Bette ran into the Planet and walked directly to the counter where Marina already had her latte waiting. “Hello, mommy, I just made it so it should be perfect-o.” Marina blew a kiss off her fingers and dropped the coffee in front of Bette, who was digging around for her wallet. “That’s wonderful because I am so late, it’s not even funny.” Bette dropped a couple dollars on the counter and turning to leave, spotted Alice, Dana and Tina sitting out on the patio. “Oh my god!”
Marina disregarded Bette’s attempt at hiding behind the poll and continued wiping the counter. “New friend of yours, Oui?”
Bette whispered, “How long have they been here?” Marina shrugged, “About an hour or so, give or take.” Taking a deep breath, Bette walked quickly to the bathrooms. She hid behind a plant and watched as Tina grabbed her stomach, and laughed along with Alice’s animation. “Un-fucking-believable!”
“Look, if you’re so concerned with what’s going on out there, you might as well go over and say hello.” Bette stood up straight and attempting to maintain what dignity she felt she had left, turned and faced Kit. “What are you doing here?” Kit nodded toward the table outside. “I came in for a cup of coffee, saw Alice, and she invited me to hang.”
“Oh,” said Bette.
But, they’re drunk so, I was just about to leave.” Bette’s shoulders dropped and she redirected her eyes to the patio. “They’re drunk? Really?”
“Hey, I didn’t know Tina Kennard moved to LA.” Bette quickly turned, “You, you know her??”
Kit made a face in disbelief. “Hell yes I know her. What the hell are you talking about?”
“How do you know her?”
Kit saw Alice walking toward them and said, “Look, look how drunk she is. With her drunk ass.” Bette saw Alice coming and ran into the ladies room. “Hey Kit, I thought you left,” said Alice.
“On my way, baby girl, now you call a taxi when you’re ready to leave, you hear me?” “Will do, Kitster.”

Hmmm… Interesting, intriguing back story. More details please. Loved the napkin trick and how Tina bumped into the Alice-Dana goofy duo and how they hit it off right away. Thanks you, girlporter, and PPS! :>
