    Unforgivable Chapter 3

“Hi Shane” the girl says smiling at Shane while leaving.

“You totally fucked her, didn’t you?” Alice ejects with a huge smile on her face.

“No, Alice. I didn’t fuck her. What is with you…” Shane stops short and standing up. “You know what, I don’t care. I’ve got an appointment in a half an hour. I’ll see you guys later.”

Everyone says their goodbyes to Shane as she heads to WAX.

“You guys, we totally need to do it,” Alice begins after she’s sure Shane is gone. “You guys saw her; baggy eyes, her hair was messier than usual… she’s totally not herself. I mean, any other day, she would have been all over that waitress.”

                “You’re right Al,” Bette agrees.

“So when do you guys want to do it?” Jenny asks, waiting for the rest of the groups answer.

“Well the sooner the better. We don’t want it to get worse. What time does she usually get home?”

                “Usually around eight.”

“Okay, well we’ll be there by seven.”

Alice, Bette and Jenny are all sitting in Sane and Jenny’s living room when they see the headlights of Shane’s jeep graze the front window. A few moments later, Shane walks through the door.

“Hey guys, what’s up? Shane asks, surprised to see her three closest friends starring at her blank-faced with a song by The Fray playing in the background.

“Shane,” Bette starts off. “Sit down, we have something to say to you.

Step one you say we need to talk

    He walks

You say sit down it’s just a talk

He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through

Shane sits down on the couch across from her friends, with a puzzled look on her face, looking around waiting for them to begin

Some sort of window to your right

As he goes left and you stay right

Between the lines of fear and blame

You begin to wonder why you came

“Shane,” Alice breaks the silence. “For the past two months we all noticed a change in you. Ever since the break-up, you’ve been really flakey, you don’t sleep, you have humongous bags under your eyes… you’re not yourself, and quite frankly, we’re worried about you. You’re our best friend, Shane, and because you’re our friend, we’re telling you that we think you have a problem.” Alice pauses for a moment to gather her thoughts. “Shane, we used to always hang together, you know, go to parties, clubs, eat bud brownies, but lately you’ve just been held up in your room doing god knows what… Shane, you’ve become…. You know what? I’m just gonna say it. You’ve become boring.”
