    Chapter 2

    They talk mostly about their jobs and their families.  Tina is a supervisor at UPS and also works shift work.  She is on her way to see her parents and younger sister Cheryl.  Time has flown by as conversation between them flowed so easily.  Tina glances down at her watch and realizes it is now after 4am.  She tells Bette that she should really get going. 

     

    Bette responds, “You don’t have to leave.  It’s late, why don’t you stay in my guest room.  Besides we haven’t even gotten your flat fixed and I hate for you to travel any further without a spare.”

     

    Tina does not miss the pronoun ‘we’ that Bette just used, she smiles.  “I would hate to impose” she answers.

     

    “It’s not any imposition.  I insist.  We’ll get your tire fixed first thing and maybe have lunch, if you have time.  Then you go to visit your family and I go back to work.  Come on, it’s late, you gotta be tired” Bette tries her best to persuade Tina.

     

    Tina agrees and they get her things and settle her into Bette’s guest room.  Bette tells her to make herself at home, if she can’t find anything let her know.  A few hours later, Tina awakes to find the house empty.  There is a note on the kitchen counter from Bette. 

     

    Went for a run.  Be back soon.  Please don’t leave. – B

     

    Tina can’t control the smile on her face.  She looks and there is coffee already made.  She gets herself a cup and decides to look around the house a little.  She discovers the back porch and goes outside.  In one corner is a small bar with bar stools in front.  Tina looks and it seems to be well stocked.  There are papa-san chairs, a wicker couch and several benches.  She must do a lot of entertaining, Tina thinks to herself.  In another corner, Tina spies her favorite piece of furniture – a hammock.  She goes over and gets comfortable, waiting for Bette to return.  Tina looks around again, appreciating her surroundings.  I could be very comfortable here.

     

    Bette returns home, sweaty and breathing hard.  The first thing she checks is that Tina’s car is still in the garage.  She goes to the fridge and grabs a bottle of water.  She sees the sliding glass door is open and goes outside.  She finds Tina in the hammock, reading a magazine.  She stands there for a minute, just watching her.  She looks so sexy in her shorts and tank top, lying in that hammock.  I could get used to coming home to this, she thinks.  She figures that she better announce herself before she gets caught gawking.

    23. I thinks for awhile it will be the guest roon,then Tinas room and them back to a guest, I have new tires on my car but I will gladly run over a nail if you will send Bette to help me fix it. Keep up the Bette and Tina please thanks
