“So you didn’t tell Alice about you lessons”?
“No of course not, Alice is a blabber mouth. If I’d told her, whole LA would know. So I kept it a secret from her. The only person who knew was Kit and she laughed at me”.
“So that was reason enough not to tell anybody”.
Tina laughed warm-hearted.
“Ohh baby, it must have been hard for you to keep that secret”. “Well you don’t have to anymore”. “The whole world may know that I think you’re the best cook!”
“Thinking about it, I’ll retire”.
“You will not!” “You know what kept me going”? “Thinking of us, cooking together, kissing together, do some hanky-panky, and now you’re telling me, you’re gonna retire”. “Hell no, Tina Kennard, can not happen”. “I’l burn the kitchen down”.
“So you’re a useless chef afterall”. I knew it”, Kit said while walking into the house.
“Hi baby sis, you managed to bring Tina back in one piece”.
“Hi baby girl, how was my homegirl’s cooking skills?” “No heartburn”?
“Kit, please, stop. Tina never ate so good”.
“That is true Kit, stop teasing my woman, she did a good job and even more……..”
“Okay, stop, stop, stop, too much information”. Come on baby sis, surprise us”.
Everyone came in and while Tina told them how the weekend went, Bette started with dinner. Kit joined her sister in the kitchen and was surprised and impressed by Bette’s cooking skills.
Dinner was served and everyone enjoyed it. They all praised Bette. Even Alice had nothing bad to say, although Alice being Alice……..
“Porter, you did do a good job, but I didn’t take a change of getting heartburn, so I took some…..”, before Alice could finish her sentence, Bette threw a pillow at her head.
“Here we go again”, “they missed each other”.
They all watched and laughed at Bette chasing Alice.
Later in bed Bette and Tina were reminiscing the weekend and the day.
“Babe, once again, Thank you for this wonderful weekend, but most of all, thank you for your effort to take cooking lessons”. “That really surprised me and I must honestly say, you’re a hell of a chef!”
“Why, you’re welcome, my lady, you’re welcome”. Bette turned on her back and had a big smile on her face.
“You know what Porter”, Tina said.
“No babe, tell me”.
“You put me in trouble”.
“How so?”, Bette asked
“I don’t know, how to top this year’s Valentine”.
“Well, you’re a smart woman, you’ll think of something. By the way, you have a full year to think about it”.
With that, Bette turned off the light, spooned Tina, gave her a peck on the nose and closed her eyes.

Love the premise and the playfulness between them. Of course Bette had been the one to almost burn down the kitchen! I can just see Tina scolding her to keep her from the kitchen!
