    Helena pays a visit to Bette at work.

    Previously..

    Helena was pissed off. Not a flicker from Tina. She clearly didnt care whether Helena fucked around. She was surprised how much it hurt. No. Not hurt, her ego butted in. Youve done so much for this woman, and she doesnt really give a ***** about you. Youre a fool Helena Peabody, she quietly fumed. Just dump her, and get back to seeing people who appreciate you, or at least appreciate your money and power.

     

    Helena hated not being in control, and Tina had proved to be surprisingly stubborn and independent. Steamroller Peabody was frustrated to realize that she would not be having much say in Tina Kennards life for much longer.

     

    As they ordered and ate, Helena debated internally what she wanted to do. Should she try to fight for Tinas affection? She suspected it was a lost cause, but the idea of letting Bette Porter win was just abhorrent to her. Bowing out gracefully was just not Helenas style. No, she would drag this out, she decided. If Bette Porter wants a fight, shes bloody well going to get it!

     

    Tina noticed the gleam in Helenas eye. It wasnt a pleasant look. The warm glow she had felt earlier in the evening about having two attentive girlfriends had dissipated. Now she was rather concerned that it was going to get nasty

    Bette sat at her desk, working on the Allyn Barnes retrospective. After her triumph over Helena and Leo in capturing Allyns confidence and trust, she knew she had to do the business and produce a killer show. Fortunately, she had a genuine love for Allyns work, which was not always the case in her business. Despite its high profile nature, the Provocations exhibition, while certainly living up to its name, was something Bette admired and believed in rather than genuinely liked.

     

    Allyn Barnes work was another matter; this was a labour of love. And a good job too, as there was a huge amount to do. The whole team at the CAC was hard at it, preparing all their galleries to showcase this womans amazing work.

     

    Bette was working on the layout of the main gallery right now. They really needed to remodel some of the temporary walls. Her mind flashed back for a moment to Candace, and her teams admittedly excellent work. Picking up the phone, she put in a call – to a totally different carpenter. The CAC and Bette Porter could definitely manage without Candace Jewel this time.

    3. Helena is such a bi.ch. Funny to think about, but Helena is all that powerful…because she can’t really do anything without involving others or getting them to do it for her. Plus, she’s not there to “see” or “look into the eyes” of those she screws afterwards, she takes satisfaction alone. She’s a coward. IMHO.

      I like chapter where Bette comes out on top! I’ll be glad when she kicks out from under the C.A.C. and does her own thing. She needs Franklin and his lukewarm authority like she needs a hole in the head!

    8. I like this story, keep up the good work. Keep taking the hih road Bette and kicking Helena’s butt. Helena will just not admit that she has been out classed. When some one ups you with your own mother, then you need to get a clue. Bette will have Tina back and maintane her dignaty. Rock on Bette and Tina.

    9. I am really enjoying this story. I love the triangle between Tina, Bette, and Helena and look forward to more interaction between all three. I hope that Tina does not go back to Bette any time soon…she should make her sweat it out.
