“Point taken. OK. What comes after breakfast?”

“We have a few options. Something adventurous like Parasailing at 7,000 feet, something unique like an off-road tour in a 4 wheel drive vehicle which sits high off the ground.”

“How long is the tour?”

“Two hours and it includes a 30 minute hike and picnic lunch or we can do something relaxing like the Paddlewheel Tour Boat.”

“I’ve not done any of those things. What are you leaning towards?” Bette asked figuring Tina already had a preference but wanted to give her a choice.

“I think the 4 wheel drive off-road tour. Parasailing might be a little too risky and I have a better way planned for us to relax later in the day.”

“OK I like it so far.”

“Good. After roughing it on the off-road tour we’re going to change gears for something that will relax you as well as restore your energy for the evening ahead but I won’t give it all away just yet. All I’ll say is that I will take very good care of you.” Tina punctuated her statement with a kiss leaving no doubt of her intentions.

“Our day long date night sounds fabulous Tee. Thank you for putting so much thought and preparation into making it so special. I can’t wait to reciprocate.”

“If that’s so then there is something you can do that I didn’t plan for.”

“What’s that?” Bette asked anxious to please.

“I want to wake up in your arms tomorrow morning. Will you sleep with me in the master bedroom tonight? I want you to hold me as I fall asleep. Will you do that for me babe?”

“I think I can manage that. Come on it’s getting late and we’ll need an early start in the morning. Let’s go to bed.”

Tina gets up and pulls Bette up off the lounger giving her a chaste kiss on the cheek and mouthing thank you. They take the empty wine bottle and glasses into the kitchen and rinse them off before turning out the lights and heading to the bedrooms. Bette goes to the guest bedroom where she has her things. She showers and changes into a tank top and pajama bottoms. She hears Tina shutting off the shower as she enters the master bedroom.

Bette removes the decorative bed pillows and bed spread to the bare sheets and light cover. The cabin has central air conditioning so the temperature is comfortable for sleeping with a light sheet. Tina comes out of the bathroom dressed in a tank top and pajama shorts and crawls into bed as Bette lifts the covers so she can snuggle up close. They lay facing each other and Bette places a soft kiss on Tina’s lips. As they stare into each other’s eyes the words ‘I love you’ almost escapes their lips but remains unspoken at least for now.

“Good night Tee.”

“Good night babe.”
