    One-Off

    Her hair pinned up in a loose bun and her black rimmed glasses perched on the end of her nose, Tina sighed at the little black and white squares on the back page of the glossy magazine she held in front of her.
    She was sitting up in bed, propped up against her oversized pillow, cosy and warm under the equally luxurious comforter, legs propped up in a make shift support to set down her crossword puzzle.
    She scanned briefly the twenty clues across and twenty clues down and pondered for a second whether she should do the easy ones or opt for the cryptic clues.
    Holding the brushed silver ball point pen between the index and middle fingers of her right hand she tapped it gently on her chin and pursed her lips in deep concentration.
    She could hear the shower going in the adjoining bathroom and looking over the top of her glasses to the door hiding the person who was currently singing at the top of her voice under the warm spray of water, thought it better to choose the easy ones.  
    The reasoning behind her choice was twofold.
    Bette had always been so much more perspicacious with the cryptic clues and Tina knew that she would not get her daily fix finished if Bette wasn’t going to be here to help her, as you see, Tina had the morning off but Bette was currently getting ready to go to work.
    Which brought on the second reason for Tina’s choice of less challenging clues. The movie executive was about to indulge in a totally harmless if not slightly naughty little deviation which, she was not going to deny it,  would completely devoid her of any rational thinking.
    Her eyes left the squared puzzle one more time to look at the white panelled door of the shower room situated opposite her and to the right. She had just heard the water being turned off, shortly followed by the sliding open of the wet room glass door followed after that by the opposite manoeuvre. 
    Bette was out. 
    Tina’s heart instantly accelerated. She blew out her cheeks and centering back on her word teaser, deliberately brought the top of her pen to her lips to suck on its end gently, frowning for good measure to signify her focus. Any casual observer would undoubtedly testify to the fact that Tina looked the perfect picture of deep concentration.

I love your writing and I especially enjoyed your voyeuristic take from Tina’s perspective (meow!). All I can say is that Tina is one lucky lady.     10. Uhm… Kins… I don’t know what to say!! … really!!! I always found your writing is mesmerizing, I just drown in the beauty of the words and then forcefully emerged when the story end. And this time, you add some X factor there and made me left my head in the clouds! ;-) … A bit sad to realized that it’s a one chapter story only.. And I wonder how steamy it would be when our favorite ladies indeed spend their night after this! Anyway, thanks again for sharing your amazing talent with us here!
