Bette Shared their CB handles. Alice immediately cut in " why am I Jabberwocky?" Bette responded" that should be obvious you talk all the time, jabber jabber jabber."
They retired to the backyard for a barbecue and swimming. Tina said " Angelica, go change into your swimming suit." Tina left and went into the bedroom to put on her forest green bikini and wrap. Bette put on her purple bikini and wrap. They joined the others out by the pool. Bette put Angelica’s water wings on and tossed her into the pool. Angelica screamed in delight. Tina dove into the pool to make sure Angelica was okay. Bette began barbecuing chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Kit went out to her car and got the green salad, potato salad and the baked beans.
It has now been three weeks since the adventure and so far nothing had been reported.
Tina heard Bette crying in the bathroom, she got up pushed open the door and asked ". What’s wrong baby? Are you sick? What can I do?"
" I’ll be okay said Bette. We are not pregnant, my little friend has joined me today. Now I know what you felt like when you didn’t get pregnant right away." Maybe it’s for the best since we do not know what will happen in the world."
Tina put her arms around Bette and held her close stroking her back and her hair, " I love you so much baby and I know how disappointed you are. We can try again whenever you are ready." It will happen when it happens, my love."
Bette took a shower. Stopped crying and got ready to go teach a graduate seminar. Phyllis Kroll had been delighted to see Bette back in LA, and wasted no time putting her to work, hoping she would agree to stay and be the Dean again. Endowments and donations were way down because she left she is so well known in the art world that there was a waiting list for classes and to get into the art school at CU.
Tina had been reviewing scripts for her New York boss and also for Alphaville financially they were doing quite well. Bette had managed to save a lot of money over the past few months this time. Tina believed they were going to be fine financially. Angelica had gone back to school at the private school. They were glad to see her as she had been their best student and she was glad to be back with her old friends.

I guess I was thinking less impact winter and more like, new succession because the soil would be a lot more fertile after everything had been burned, like after lava flow. Of course, with no sunlight, nothing is going to grow well. It’s for the best, perhaps, that Bette isn’t pregnant. The stress of trying to survive and keeping themselves and their family and friends safe is going to be hard enough, I think. They’d better head off soon, then, if things are about to happen. There’s still time to get more supplies together and start transporting them to their eventual settlement. Thanks for the post! :)
