What The Future Holds Chapter 25
After everything was loaded up. Bette and Tina went to bathe the babies, change the babies feed the babies and put them down for the nightand get some rest themselves. They would be up again at 6 AM to feed and change them again, they would see the group off.
Amongst tearful goodbyes. The group headed back to Los Angeles. It took them four days to get home because there were abandoned cars and bodies that had not been cleaned up in this rural area. They had no altercations with anyone. The cell phone did work. Alice called Bette and told her about the status of the roads and that there were bodies decaying. Alice reported their house was not damaged at all. She got someone to come and drain the pool and clean it and refill it. She also worked with the others to clean their house so everything would be ready for them when they returned.
The babies were growing fast and they were ahead of milestones for their age. They were smiling. They were raising their head and chest when under Tummy’s they were tracking their mommies and her sister and Bailey with their eyes they could open and shut their hands and their hand spent a lot of time in their mouth they could grip objects they could roll over they could babble and they could laugh. They also could sit up with support and they could control their heads. They had begun to try to crawl. Bette had continued to exercise and Bette and Tina had both continued to run so they looked pretty damn good. Tina said" I can’t believe you just had a baby and you have your beautiful body back. I cannot keep my hands to myself and I see you can’t either. Remember that is how we got pregnant in the first place, and I think we have enough to keep us busy for quite some time."
The Tularian’ packed up the remaining supplies and transported them to their ship. Bette, Tina, Bailey, the babies, Angelica and Jessica were beamed aboard they were transported to West Hollywood and deposited in their yard. The remaining food and supplies was stacked in the backyard out of sight as there were still problems with the food supply it was going to take a while for trucking to deliver foodstuffs. Fortunately the action the Tularians took headed off a four-year minimum impact winter, so things had begun to grow again. And little by little were becoming available in stores that had been cleaned up and repaired. The governments of the world had all mostly recovered and much of the infrastructure had been repaired bodies had been removed and buried and cars, had been towed away. It was beginning to look like Earth again. The Tularians had occupied Cuba and were in the process of transferring their medical and technological information to the scientists of the Earth. One of the most welcomed was the ability to have two women create children. Bette and Tina were still in great demand for speaking engagements. They hardly have any time without paparazzi. They had been home a year and a half now. The babies were walking, no running, starting to form sentences respond to familiar words and they had begun to feed themselves. They loved to point and play.
Bailey was quite a curiosity as most pets did not last through the famine, they were eaten to sustain people’s lives. Bailey knew she was home, she would lay by the front door and growl and bark at the paparazzi and if anyone tried to come in. She would snarl and bite. Angelica and Jessica were still being homeschooled by Tina and sometimes by Bette. They had gotten their lives back. For the most part.
