Chapter 9 – One step at a time
Two and a half months had passed since Kit’s surgery.
Two and a half months of slow, painful healing coupled with nauseating chemotherapy. Some days the pain was so bad that all Kit could do was cry. Initially Kit had refused pain strong medication because of her alcoholism, but that was short lived after the first twenty fours after surgery.
Even though the doctor had warned her, she had not expected it to be that bad, and all family and friends could do was watch helplessly during that early period. For the first two weeks when Kit wasn’t awake and in pain she would be asleep, as sleep afforded her the most comfort.
Bette had all but moved in with Kit now and took care of her on a full time basis along with a day nurse, only leaving her for no more than two or sometimes three days at a time when she had to go do a review.
On those days, Tina, Alice and Shane would come by and sleepover to keep Kit company and help out. At first Tina would come on her own, but after the first week she had felt overwhelmed to be around Bette’s things, Bette’s smell and Bette’s sister and so sought out the others as a way to distract her from her feelings of remorse, regret and self pity.
Tina still saw Bette every so often at the Planet, as that was Bette’s second job, and when she did Tina would watch her quietly from the shadows.
Tina had thought that Bette looked exhausted, beautiful but exhausted. Bette usually had several women around her whom she seemed disinterested in.
One evening Tina had gone into the Planet to meet Alice as they were heading off to someplaceTina didn’t know whereAlice was dragging her out of the house.
While she stood by the bar nursing a lite beer, she looked around impatiently for her blond friend and her eyes fell upon Bette’s familiar profile, again with some twink in tow.
Fascinated and slightly jealous Tina watched in awe as the unknown woman practically climbed into Bette’s lap and proceeded to seduce her.
It took all of Tina’s strength to keep from walking over to them and throwing the woman on her *****. Instead, she watched open mouthed, as the twink continued her seduction tactics, whispering in Bette’s ear and touching her in places she shouldn’t have been.
Tina was about to turn and leave when the woman finally went too far, by grabbing Bette by the hair and forcing her in for a powerful lip locking kiss, tongues and all.
That was it for Tina, she put down her drink and took two steps forward when she heard a familiar voice.

ahhh bitter sweet love and childish games….
i hope for “now”..they need to talk and understand what is happening to them and why..cuz the love never disappeared but they are confuse and need some time alone to think.. talk and rebuild the trust baby steps to make the right move and never regret hope for some good news soon post soon thanks :o)
I, too vote that they head off somewhere alone without the distractions of West Hollywood and their friends. They NEED to talk. Loving your story though :-)
Like this story but, please let them talk their problems out or go away for a day or two to give them a respite from the sameness of things. Let htem see the love they have for each other and get back together and above all else, swallow that damnable pride they each have.
In every piece of fanfiction I have read there remains one standout problem, B & T doe not have an interpersonal relationaship. They have HOT sex and make-up sex but they can not seem to be able to just talk with each other. They only talk or recognize the other WHEN THEY ARE IN CRISIS. They are very attuned to each other sexually but not in any other way. Just let them get back together please. Post soon.

Bette thought that she would give it another month or so and once the new manager settled in, and Kit seemed stronger she would do something special by herself, for herself.
She would forget about everything and everyone, including Angelica, even though Angie would be the hardest to ignore.
If Bette is going to play childish games in front of Tina.it will never get any better. Even tho Tina brough a man to their home. then had other dealing with him. Bette will and was hurt, but Tina knows that she sorta started it. .
Damn this is sad and please don’t let them apart and let them talk and work thing out and be together again. Post soon, thanks!
