    Chapter 10

    “Sure sweetie, let them in.” Bette replied thinking it was Lynn and Andrew who had finally arrived. When Ozzie opened the door wider, she was shocked. It was Kit standing there with tear-filled eyes.

     

    “Kit? Kit, what are you doing here?” Bette began to ask but Ozzie heard the tone in her voice and interrupted her.

     

    “Mom? Mom?” he said a little louder the second time. She looked at him. “Mom, this a time to take five breathes, and calm down, k? Ready?” He said to her as he reached for her hand, she looked down upon him and smiled and together they took in five deep breaths and she was able to calm herself down. “Good job, mom,’ He then smiled at her, walked back over to Kit and took her hand and led her into the office space. He looked at Maxine and said, “Hi, this Auntie Kit. Mom, pease, have open mind, open heart, k?”

     

    She picked him up into her arms and gave him and hug and then looked into his amazing eyes and realized that this moment was quite important for her to remain calm, so she did. She smiled at him, kissed his cheek and then looked at Kit with a sense of calm. “I’m sorry, having you here is so unexpected. How did you find me?” Bette asked her. Kit took in a deep breath and let it go with relief.

     

    “Well, fate brought me here as I was doing another Internet search on you and up popped the information that you were in New York, working at this gallery. I needed to see you as soon as possible to make amends, as I was so wrong to turn my back on you for what happened. I’m so sorry and hope that you can forgive me someday.”

     

    “Mom?” Ozzie said, “Open heart, member?”

     

    “Yes, I do.” She answered him with a nice smile on her face as she and Sonia had talked about this moment happening and what she could do to keep her center. She kissed his forehead and he hugged her around her neck and then smiled back at her.

    1. This is such a wonderfully written story. It is unfolding at a great pace, giving me time to adjust to some unanticipated revelations. I love Ozzie, so sweet, so loving, so balanced..such a contrast to Bette and her sometimes knee jerk reactions. Bette’s broken life in Weho has been replaced with a family full of possibilities: a new son, Kit returning to her life, finding her mother, as well as another sister and brother! In addition to that her other mother is her boss!! Talk about changes! PPS!!

Great update again.Love your story.Glad that Bettes meeting with her Mother went smoothly.Thanks to her Mothers patience in delaying the meeting Bette after such a long time apart and to find out she had 2 siblings to boot.Very pleased that Bette has Kit back in her life.Will Kit now test the waters re Tina or decide to wait until her own relationship with Bette is back on track.Loving Ozzie a great little man with so much love to give Bette who needed it at a difficult time in her life.

    8. Great updates, they were wonderful. I half expected Tina to show up in one of these chapters. At least Bette thought of and wished that Tina was there with her to share her seeing her mother again. Hopefully she says that out loud to Kit, especially since Kit is living with her and helping her with the baby is she has now had Angelica and I think she must have by now or is very close to her due date. Hopefully she will see Tina next. Updates were wonderful. Thanks for posting.
