“Well given what you’ve been through the past six months I can’t imagine dating me was a priority.” Bette still couldn’t get over all the drama especially after learning all the details of Tina’s plans and the danger she put herself in.

“How could you say that? The thought of you waiting for me to be free of Jodi and this nightmare was what got me through it. You were always a priority Bette I just couldn’t be with you until I had closure. Now that it’s over getting on with our lives together is the most important thing to me.”

“I’m sorry, that was very insensitive of me. I would love for you to plan our first date night.” Bette was contrite and apologetic. Of course Tina couldn’t resist the puppy dog look that Bette had perfected to almost always get her way.

“You’re forgiven.” Tina said getting up and moving onto Bette’s lap. She put her arms around her neck and brought her into a scorching kiss. “Babe it’s getting late, let’s go to bed.” Their lovemaking that evening was gentle, pure and beautiful.

Bette rented a sailboat and they set off early on Friday morning. When they got to Catalina Island they docked and made their way to a beautiful two-bedroom condo on the sea cliff where the balcony opened up to spectacular ocean views. They’d packed groceries so they wouldn’t have to go out to eat every meal and since they both loved cooking it worked out well.

“Oh my god Bette this is beautiful. It’s so peaceful here.” Tina exclaimed.

After unpacking, they’d freshened up and prepared a light lunch. They now sat out on the balcony to eat and enjoy the perfect weather and the great view.

“Yes it is. I loved coming here to relax. It was my sanctuary when I lived in Los Angeles.”

“Well it’s perfect for our getaway. Thanks for bringing me here. It’s exactly what I needed.”

“I’m glad you like it. Why don’t we clear these dishes and go for a walk on the beach?” After cleaning up Bette packed bottled water and a blanket in her backpack and Tina grabbed her camera before heading out. They walked arm in arm along the shoreline until they found a private little alcove to spread their blanket. It was quiet and peaceful. The only interruption was the sound of the ocean waves beating against the shore. They sat on the blanket facing each other as they continued their conversations, jumping from one topic to another.
