    Chapter 15

     

    Had Angelica planned on running away from the very beginning or was this a spur of the moment thing?  If she had planned this from the beginning then Tina was beginning to wonder did she even know her daughter.  To the best of her knowledge Angelica had never deceived her before.  Or had she and Tina just hadn’t caught on.  These ideas swirled around in Tina’s mind making her wonder from one moment to the next if she even knew her daughter anymore.  Because the Angelica she knew would never have deliberately run away.  Why is Angelica running away?  Did I do something to push her away?

     

    In an attempt to give her mind a break from the never ending circle of thoughts concerning Angelica, none of which had any answers Tina tried to clear her mind of any thoughts and just think about the road ahead.  Focus on the path in front of her.  In this effort, Tina first checked her speed and then her mirrors.  Everything was fine. 

     

    Settling back Tina glanced to the right.  There was a woman in the next car with dark hair.  Bette’s hair had looked just as dark as Tina remembered it on the television last night.  A little shorter than when they were together but still full and beautiful, just as Tina pictured her in her mind.  How odd is it that Tina should see Bette or even an image of Bette when she was here in California.  Isn’t that the real reason that Tina had never accepted any assignments in California?  Tina felt in her soul that once she stepped foot into this state again that seeing Bette again would be inevitable.  She just never thought it would just be an image on TV.  Under any other circumstances Tina would have laughed at the irony of her fears but right now she wasn’t finding anything too funny.

    Bette felt a sudden shot of electricity run through her causing her knees to suddenly shake.  It started the moment the girl before them finished her twirl and presented her face to Bette, she recognized Tina in her immediately.  The shape of her nose and mouth could only be from Tina Kennard.  Bette kissed those lips so many times that even now all these years later she recognized those lips.

    1. In some stories when the author is leading us up to something big, it is hard to concentrate on the story itself because we are waiting for the big bang. But, you are such an incredible story teller that I don’t find myself reading over something quickly because I am waiting for what is going to happen in the future, I find that I can enjoy every moment, every element one word at a time. Thank you! Oh, and I think you have it backwards. In our frindship you are Yoda, I am just soaking it all in. :)

    4. This is a wonderful story and the recognition between Bette and Angelica is just breathtaking. Can hardly wait for Tina to see Bette again and see the two of them together to see how much alike they really do look. My prayer is that Bette and Tina can let go of the past and concentrate on the present and the future of them all. As a serious TiBette fan, I always want them together. Please let them forgive each other and get on with creating a new life and family. PPS

    5. Well damn, on page 1 with Kennard in the last paragraph…, and on page 3 with Kennard in the last paragraph… You know this is excrutiating reading. But in the best way! This is turning into what I believe will become an epic! Great tangled web, and I have no doubts that Tina won’t turn up at the BP Gallery or come face to face with Bette for at least…, oh another 20 chapters. x

    6. The eyes, the portal to their owners’ heart and soul. Mother and Daughter finally meet and see each other in the mirrored eyes. Does Angelica carry any part of Bette’s name?

    7. Unbelievably awesome incredible chapter – the timing of the various perspectives and the discovery and questions swirling simultanteously – brilliantly written. If you can’t tell I really really liked it.

    12. Hey JWet, See I back to being religated further down the list of commenters. Cozy here. So this last chapter sizzled as Bette and Angelica finally met. The air was palable with excitement. Even James was bowled over by this young vision before him. Loved how Shane quickly explained her panic and soothed Bette. Having Tina’s meditations separating these different points of view was inspired. I do hope taht you continue soon as I am on tenderhooks waiting to see what Bette and Angelica will say to each other. Will Angelica find out the truth about her mother and Bette’s past? Will Bette go along wiht the ruse and provide a haven for Angelica until her mother arrives? Will Bette or Shane contact Tina to explain where Angelica is? SO many questions and so little time. Many thanks for this wonderful writing and magnificent melodrama. Your Loyal Fan.

    17. First, thank you for the wonderful post. I’m thinking I don’t know what I would do if I were Tina. She has been a good mother and done the best she could as a single mom. My heart breaks for her. My only hope is that while Bette may feel mad, upset, hurt or whatever at the realization that she had a daughter she didn’t know about and may be mad at Tina, she will also put herself in Tina’s position and realize the worry and panic she must be feeling. Maybe this will help if/when they finally meet again. You know I’m a tibetter and want to see them together again. It will be a long and hard road, but although so many years have passed I believe the three of them can still be a family again. PPS!!!! :)
