    Chapter 3

    Chapter 3

     

    Two years later

     

    “Come on Paige you know I need to stay.  I told you yesterday.” Angelica whined to her friend when she began to make motions to leave school early.

     

    “Are you serious I thought you were only joking?” Paige says turning around to look back at Angelica.  “Mike’s coming to meet us and I told him to bring his friend for you.”  Paige explains getting a little exasperated at Angelica letting her down.

     

    Angelica made a little face at the mention of Mike and his friend, she didn’t really like him.  There was just something about him made her uneasy.  For once she was glad she was going to make her Mother happy.  “I’m sorry Paige but I have to get to class.  You know if I don’t show up I won’t be able to exhibit at the Art Fair.” Angelica was happy to have a reason not be meeting up with the guys but not wanting Paige to be mad at her either.

     

    Paige looks at Angelica like she’s crazy.  “You would really rather go to class then come play around with us?”

     

    Angelica was quick to straighten Paige out.  “I’d rather show my painting at the Art Fair.”

     

    Not happy with Angelica but seeing she was firm about going to class she just shrugged.  “Call me later.” Was all Paige said, putting her hand up to her face with her thumb near her ear and her pinky finger near her mouth.  Paige quickly left while she still could leaving Angelica to turn and get to class before the bell rang.

    Bette walked up to the skate board park entrance.  It was an outgrowth of Shane’s hair salon and tattoo shop.  She had to smile as she recognized so many of the kids moving around, flying through the air and even a few wiping out.  It still amazed her despite her continued good health, her house was still the central meeting place for many of the friends and kids of Shane.

     

    Turning down the path that led to the office Bette sees what she came for, “Shane … Shane.”  Bette tries to catch Shane as she darted in the opposite direction.

    3. Let’s hope Tina makes it back in time for Angie’s show. Maybe Bette can be a visiting judge so at least one of her parents will be there. Even if they don’t know about one another. I don’t know if I would be so carefree to hand my child my charge card and tell him to go shopping without supervsion(lol). Thanks for the update.

    5. I am so liking this!!! I am sure one of Shane’s kids will be in the show and Bette will be there. I just hope Tina shows up late and run’s into Bette. Thanks PPVS

    6. Here’s hoping Angie is as sensible with the credit card as she was in turning down Paige. I guess she’s really earned some credit with her mother. So is this interest in art going to bring the child and her estranged mother together at last?

    7. Great writing. I am wondering how you’re going to get them together. Will Bette be a judge or will she see a notice about the Art Fair and the entrants? OR do you have something up your sleeve? PPS.

    8. I hope that Angelica will be wise with her mother’s credit card. Can Tina really trust her daughter with her card?? lol Anyways, Bette and Shane have gotten closer since she’s been diagnose with leukemia. I really hope that Tina and Bette will see each other again…PPS
