The next morning continued…

Bette and Tina approach the bottom stairwell.Tina pulls back and looks at the brunette, she then gazes over at her mother.

Tina:"What are you doing here?"She asked with a concerned look in her eye…her father just came through the door."Dad? Mom, what’s going on?"She approaches her parents cautiously. The look in her mother’s eyes displayed sadness. She was hoping and praying that no one died. She wasn’t sure if she could deal with another death. At least, not right now. Tina’s mother reaches out and embraces her daughter. Her soul felt lost and empty. Kit makes her way over to Bette.

Bette:"What’s wrong?"

Kit:"We need to talk."

Bette:"I’m listening, tell me." Her hands moved insanly. By the looks of things, Kit knew she was desperate.

Kit:"Lets go outside."

Bette:"No." She pulls away." I want to stay here. Why are you acting so weird?"

Kit:"I’m not…" She sighs. "There’s some bad news baby sis. I found out this morning. And I don’t think you’re going to take this well." She rubs her back.

Bette:"Is it bad?"She crackes her knuckles.

Kit:"Yes. Come on. I’ll tell you outside."

Bette: "Ok…"Kit led the way out of the house. Bette turns and catches a glimpse of Tina. Her mother’s still holding her in her arms. She frowns and turns away. The brunette follows her sister outside."What’s up?"

Kit:"Tina’s leaving…"She leans up against the banister.

Bette: "Where to?"

Kit:"North Carolina."

Bette:"WHAT!"She turns to storm inside, but, Kit grabs her arm.

Kit:"Hold on…Are u okay with this?"

Bette:"Is that a trick question?"

Kit:"Baby sis, please don’t go in there like some one then stole your momma. You should think first before reacting."Bette pulls away.

Bette:"I’ve thought enough and its led me to this. My damn girlfriend’s leaving me and you’re telling me to think before I react. Huh, if she’s moving I’m going with her."

Kit:"No you’re not."

Bette:"I beg your pardon?"Kit steps forward.

Kit:"You heard me Bette. I’m sorry about the news, but it’s time to move on. Who knows…maybe you guys might hook up in the future, but until then we have to do what we have to do."She touches her arm. Bette pulls away. Tears weld in her eyes. She can’t help them as they fall from her eyes. Kit tries to comfort her, but Bette pulls away.
