Who’s Pointing Fingers Chapter 8
The little town is fading from view as they drive out of town to the dirt road that will deliver them to Agnes’s house.
Through the rain they can vaguely see the outline of a structure in front of them. It is a huge white house with amazing pillars framing the door. As they neared the entrance to the long driveway the van starts to slow. It had stopped running.
Bette throwing up her hands. “OK, fucking OK, I give up! This fucking van is not running.” She tries several times to get it to restart. Looking at Tina, Bette is now completely distraught. “Please get me the papers for this thing, They are in the glove compartment.” Tears start to invade her piercing eyes.
Tina retrieves the envelop with the documents. Looking at Bette, in a calm tone, “Breath, Bette, just breath.”
Bette tried to smile at Tina but this vacation was just not turning out as Bette had planned. As she opened the envelope she reached for her cell phone to call the car rental company but, there was no reception. “Jesus Christ!” Bette screamed as she realized there was no way for her to call for help.
The rain is coming down heavily and Bette feels totally helpless. She tries for Tina’s sake to remain calm and retain her composure. “We have got to get this van off of the road.” Bette knows what needs to be done but, she hasn’t thought of the ramifications of getting out of the van with the only cloths she has, on. “We have got to push this fucking bus off of the road. Tina you drive and the rest of us will push.’ Very cavalier of Bette to have Tina stay in the dry, comfy confines of the van.
“Excuse me, in the rain, in the mud? Do you any idea how much these shoes cost?” Alice is indignant about getting out of the van.
“”Alice …” Bette is direct. “Do you want to sit here in the van the rest of the evening? If not, I would strongly suggest you get into your luggage and get out the Birkenstocks and flannels you thought we should all bring and get ready to push!” Bette was not angry with Alice, she was just so hoping for this little vacation to be just the thing to help get her and Tina back together and nothing was going as planned.

Bette appears to have my kind of luck, when it’s good it’s so good and when it’s going badly, oh nothing goes right. I think Bette’s luck might be making a turn for the better though. Love how she tells Tina she loves her and is going to keep telling her that! PPS
4 bedrooms and 5 women… i wonder who has to share… i hope its bette and tina… maybe tina will suggest it…PPS
Very touching story so far. I also think it’s sweet Bette telling Tina she loves her at every opportunity. PPS.
Got to love Bettes reinforcing the love. ..PPS
holly molly alice need 2 shut the fuck up. i hope tibette will share a room
I think Bette and Tina need to share a room. This was too funny. I was cracking up picturing them stuck in the rain, Alice behind the van and Bette letting go.
I’m really enjoying this lovely, sweet story.
Alice is lucky someone did not whack her upside her head. Bette and I share the same luck, BAD.
poor Bette! i believe the only thing to go right for her is if her and Tina share a room! she needs uplifting! :> PPS
Poor Beete!
Will someone please glue Alice’s mouth shut. As Amanda said, hope it is Tina and Bette that have to share a bedroom. I think after Alice’s comment and Bette Tina’s reaction to it, I think Tina will want to curl up in Bette’s arms all night. Don’t think she will admit it but will surrender to Bette. Can hardly wait for the next chapter. PPS
