    Chapter 40

    Bette

The past month of having Tina back in her apartment has gone better than I ever could have imagined. My fears of us not connecting due to her being in one place and me in another were so unfounded. If anything, I felt closer to her now than I did in the past. We were making a concentrated effort to spend time together and that is something that we had taken for granted in the past. Angie was our connection, if in fact we needed one and we both went out of our way to ensure that the other saw her when she was away. It was as simple as getting up a few minutes earlier to make it to The Planet or having dinner together but the time we spent together was quality and we made the most of it. On those nights that we didn’t stay together we had fallen into the routine of calling at 10pm. For some reason that worked well for us. It gave us time to put Angie down, wrap up any unfinished work and crawl into to bed. Whoever had Angie made the call so that the phone ringing didn’t wake her and we talked. We talked about our days, our friends and family, our future and of course our past. We had some arguments during these conversations but we always talked through them. There was a lot of playfulness and flirting. On some nights, there was some hot and heavy phone sex which was a poor substitute for the real thing but was good for us because it forced us to talk about an area of our lives that we just took for granted because it seemed to work well. Both Suzanne and Dan had suggested to us that we use phone sex when we were apart rather than let frustration be something that tore us apart. We didn’t do it often since we were able to share each other’s bed frequently but when we did, the result was always as intended.

Tina and I went to see Suzanne together as planned and that resulted in us both going to our separate residences until we were able to talk later that night. It was an emotional session for both of us. Suzanne was not one to hold anything back and that day, she was determined to make us examine both our past and our future without the rose colored glasses on that she said many people who try to reconcile have.

    1. Am I first? Wow! I’ve been lurking and following your wstory. I have to say that this is such a well written story. It is sensitive, warm, loving and just plain old good. You express the love of this couple as they travel back to each other. Bravo!!

    2. Bette is such a sweetie to be there for tina!tina has a lot to absorb at her dad… why are do parents think that hiding things is always the best the truth always comes out! excellent! :)

    3. Such a great story. It’s so nice to read a story where you can feel the love between them. This is my current favorite and I love how your chapters are really long…keep it up!

    4. Wow, what a treat. I’ve gotten to read two long chapters of this great story tonight. I love this new Bette that is so totally into and supportive of Tina. I can’t wait to see how Tina and her parents will come together. I hope you will be able to post some more chapters this weekend. I know you have a life and other things to do this weekend, but just in case you have a little time, I would truly enjoy another chapter soon. Thanks….

    5. Had to go back to read your Bio. Youare so young to be so wise. Your wisdon over whelm me. The hurt that Tina is feeling and the fact that she can forgive a cheat but not being lie to. That show something for her belief in truth and honestive. All in all would like another post.We know some people has lifes This is good. thanks

    6. (Chronic insomniac)…I got so caught up in this chapter I almost burned my pizza, thankyouverymuch. I so appreciate this story of love, understanding, support, forgiveness, and honesty. It’s full of realism…full of surprises and challenges, just like life. It’s … It’s just…It’s just stupendous. Thank you for being so committed and effusive in its telling.

    7. Thanks for the PM..I agree with Beach life..secrets always come out, sometimes it is better to just deal with them head on. Later in life, there is more hurt and resentment. Again, you rock! amamzing chapter..PPS

    8. Yeah, maybe a book about the Spawns of Satan will be intersting. I am sure that others can learn from it. It is interesting that Tina has found out things about her life that she did not know. I hope that she is able to allow her parents back into her life. Maybe even get to meet her biological father and work through all of that. Heck he may even be an artist that Bette has worked with in the past.

    9. WOW!!! Three long, meaty chapters posted in two days. *THUD* You’re writing in full throttle, newagegirl! WOW again!!! :> When you first wrote this story, did you imagine that it would go beyond 40 chapters? Okay, let me comment on the last 3 chapters before you post another new one. Chapter 38: I like the transition from the Candace reemergence nightmare and phone-throwing debacle to the early mornin’ lovin’ plus iPhone-flower surprise. I sooo love their breakfast banter at the Planet, especially when Tina said, “Isn’t that why you love me?” The barbecue and the slow, playful unveiling of their dating arrangement also went well. Loved your Dana reference btw. I so miss her goofiness on the show. Chapters 39 and 40: Both dealt with heavy stuff–Tina’s talk with her estranged parents, its aftermath and Bette & Tina’s joint session with Suzanne. In Chapter 39, the memory of their night at the fair was a welcome breather to an otherwise heavy chapter. The Luke angle made me wonder if homosexuality is hereditary. But I do appreciate that you’re writing about Tina’s family. At least in fanficdom, writers bother to dispel the urban legend that Tina was raised by a pack of wolves. I really love this new, steadier and supportive Bette. I really love the way she’s taking care of Tina and how Tina’s basking on that attention and reciprocating it in her own way. Looking forward to how the rest of the story unfolds. More envelopes please even the ones that deal with painful memories! Thanks a lot for these 3 chapters, newagegirl! PPS :>

    10. I honestly don’t know how you do it, but I’m so glad you do. You leave me speechless with every update. The story is well planned, masterfully penned and the dialogue is nothing short of wonderful. Can’t wait for your next update!

    11. Again, having a hard time configuring my words. NAG you must be a very deep person to have such insight. Do people really have that deep of a connection or is this just romance novel stuff?
