Window of Opportunity ch. 40
When we arrived, we arrive separately both of us coming from work. I wasn’t initially nervous as I had a rapport with Suzanne but Tina, while waiting did express her nervousness. I tried to reassure her that Suzanne was a good thing for us and that we already knew what we wanted so she was just more of a checkup. I thought that until we got in her office.
She greeted us both and took a few minutes to tell Tina about herself and her credentials. She then asked Tina to tell her a little about herself. When that was out of the way, she then looked at both of us before she began.
“Tina and Bette. I know a lot about your history from my sessions with you Bette but Tina, you can tell me your version if you feel that would bring a better perspective to things.”
“That’s not necessary. I’m sure other than some of my thoughts and my first hand feelings, Bette has been forthright with what happened.”
“Ok let’s start with you Tina. Bette cheated on you. She betrayed your trust. Do you really think you can forgive her?”
“Bette did cheat on me but to say that she betrayed me is not how I want to think of it. I can forgive her and I have. As I’ve told her, the affair is not what defines her. It was a mistake. It wouldn’t be something that I would ever accept again in our relationship but I am no longer obsessed with my hurt and pain. I can move on because Bette is the person I love.”
Suzanne was jotting down notes although she rarely did in our sessions.
“Bette when you first started coming to see me, you talked about wanting to be back with Tina but you couldn’t tell me why you had the affair. Have you and Tina talked about the whys and can you at this point say why it happened?”
“Tina and I have talked about it. Why it happened is probably less important than it did happen. I know that I was lost. We had grown apart and we weren’t at the same place together any longer in our relationship. I had so much going on in my life that I couldn’t grasp anything. I turned to Candace because she was there when Tina wasn’t. It’s not something I’m proud of but Tina and I had shut one another out to each other. Candace took that window of opportunity to get me when I was vulnerable and unfortunately, I was weak enough to succumb.”

Am I first? Wow! I’ve been lurking and following your wstory. I have to say that this is such a well written story. It is sensitive, warm, loving and just plain old good. You express the love of this couple as they travel back to each other. Bravo!!
Bette is such a sweetie to be there for tina!tina has a lot to absorb at her dad… why are do parents think that hiding things is always the best the truth always comes out! excellent! :)
Such a great story. It’s so nice to read a story where you can feel the love between them. This is my current favorite and I love how your chapters are really long…keep it up!
Wow, what a treat. I’ve gotten to read two long chapters of this great story tonight. I love this new Bette that is so totally into and supportive of Tina. I can’t wait to see how Tina and her parents will come together. I hope you will be able to post some more chapters this weekend. I know you have a life and other things to do this weekend, but just in case you have a little time, I would truly enjoy another chapter soon. Thanks….
Maybe I’m just being dense, but, what was it that embarrassed Tina so much? Great post. I love B&T’s interactions.
Had to go back to read your Bio. Youare so young to be so wise. Your wisdon over whelm me. The hurt that Tina is feeling and the fact that she can forgive a cheat but not being lie to. That show something for her belief in truth and honestive. All in all would like another post.We know some people has lifes This is good. thanks
(Chronic insomniac)…I got so caught up in this chapter I almost burned my pizza, thankyouverymuch. I so appreciate this story of love, understanding, support, forgiveness, and honesty. It’s full of realism…full of surprises and challenges, just like life. It’s … It’s just…It’s just stupendous. Thank you for being so committed and effusive in its telling.
Thanks for the PM..I agree with Beach life..secrets always come out, sometimes it is better to just deal with them head on. Later in life, there is more hurt and resentment. Again, you rock! amamzing chapter..PPS
Yeah, maybe a book about the Spawns of Satan will be intersting. I am sure that others can learn from it. It is interesting that Tina has found out things about her life that she did not know. I hope that she is able to allow her parents back into her life. Maybe even get to meet her biological father and work through all of that. Heck he may even be an artist that Bette has worked with in the past.
Another awesome update. Was gone for the weekend so I’m a little late in commenting. Thanks for this chapter. Looking forward to the next one.
WOW!!! Three long, meaty chapters posted in two days. *THUD* You’re writing in full throttle, newagegirl! WOW again!!! :> When you first wrote this story, did you imagine that it would go beyond 40 chapters? Okay, let me comment on the last 3 chapters before you post another new one. Chapter 38: I like the transition from the Candace reemergence nightmare and phone-throwing debacle to the early mornin’ lovin’ plus iPhone-flower surprise. I sooo love their breakfast banter at the Planet, especially when Tina said, “Isn’t that why you love me?” The barbecue and the slow, playful unveiling of their dating arrangement also went well. Loved your Dana reference btw. I so miss her goofiness on the show. Chapters 39 and 40: Both dealt with heavy stuff–Tina’s talk with her estranged parents, its aftermath and Bette & Tina’s joint session with Suzanne. In Chapter 39, the memory of their night at the fair was a welcome breather to an otherwise heavy chapter. The Luke angle made me wonder if homosexuality is hereditary. But I do appreciate that you’re writing about Tina’s family. At least in fanficdom, writers bother to dispel the urban legend that Tina was raised by a pack of wolves. I really love this new, steadier and supportive Bette. I really love the way she’s taking care of Tina and how Tina’s basking on that attention and reciprocating it in her own way. Looking forward to how the rest of the story unfolds. More envelopes please even the ones that deal with painful memories! Thanks a lot for these 3 chapters, newagegirl! PPS :>
I honestly don’t know how you do it, but I’m so glad you do. You leave me speechless with every update. The story is well planned, masterfully penned and the dialogue is nothing short of wonderful. Can’t wait for your next update!
You are sooooo gifted. I love the story.
Again, having a hard time configuring my words. NAG you must be a very deep person to have such insight. Do people really have that deep of a connection or is this just romance novel stuff?
Yeah they have grown up so much. Poor T, what a shock! Loving the story. Thank U.
Wow!!! What a great story. Bette is so considerate of Tina. Just a sweetie. PPS.
WOW!!! your story just keeps getting better. Thank you
