As much as I wanted my time with her to be a happy time, the tears started. They weren’t tears of sadness but Alice being so heartfelt was not something that I had prepared myself for. We started hugging until my robe opened and we pulled apart laughing.
“Maybe I should put some clothes on so I don’t tempt you to stand Bette up at the altar.”
“Yes, maybe because you know, I was thinking about running off with you when you flashed me there.”
She went back into the bathroom and came out with shorts and a tank top on.
We sat on the bed. “Al, Bette and I picked out some gifts as a small token of our appreciation of you being a part of our wedding day. Before the day gets going and we get pulled in so many different directions, I’d like to give them to you now.”
“You didn’t have to do that TK but I love presents so, thank you.”
I handed her the first one and she ripped into just as Angie would have done. It was a compact with “Words are easy, like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find” inscribed on the cover. We wanted her to always know that she was truly a wonderful friend.
The second one, I had consulted with Tasha to ensure that she was ok with it. I didn’t want to do anything that would cause any discord in their relationship. It was a four leaf clover shaped locket. In one section had a picture of Dana. In another, a picture of Tasha. In the third, a picture of Angie. The fourth was left empty to allow a picture of the twins to be added. I had wanted those who made her happiest to always be close to her heart. When I had asked Tasha, she thought it was a great idea. Since she too had suffered the loss of a partner, she was not threatened by the memories of Dana that Alice carried. She encouraged her to continue carrying those memories while moving forward with her.
After she opened it and held it in her hands looking at the pictures, I explained it to her that Tasha knew about it and thought it a good idea. It was something for her to hold those she loved close to her. She had tears streaming down her cheeks.

Sniff, what amazing chapter, thanks god for tissuse, so sappy i know.. i love the handkerchief from bette and kit for tina to have,james made the biggest impression with the pin. love how you write james in this story.can’t wait for this wedding to get started. angie and purple garter belt how cute… awe :)PPS
I’ve been trying my hardest to catch up with this story, and so far haven’t succeeded, so I wanted to leave a comment now since it may not happen for a while. I’ve grown to really enjoy this story, and your wonderfully considered backstory for Tina has me really wishing yet again that we’d seen something, even just an episode’s worth, of her family onscreen. Thank you for writing both Tina and Bette with such care and thoughtfulness.
**Sigh** I love this story…I really do. Angie and her colour purple, Bette and Tina so happy, all the friends and family there…it’s just such a “feel good” story. Thanks NAG for updating it.
We’re going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married.Can’t wait to get to the wedding.

Wonderful chapter NAG, thanks so much for posting it. Such a loving story and chapter for the girls and family. Everyone is taking very good care of Tina and so it should be. This story is so thrilling because they were already a family of friends but now with Tina’s parents involved, Tina’s birth father, Charles for Kit, Amy for Shane and a man for James and everyone is included in the family makeup. So wonderful for all of them because now they are a close knit family whether by blood or acceptance of intimate frieds as family. So wonderful and loving. Thanks for writing this chapter and posting with all that is going on in your life at the moment. Post when you can.

Awww, Tina’s gonna fulfill a childhood dream! A glowing Princess wearing a tiara exchanging vows with her Destiny. Lovely! You know, in the early chapters, Bette & Tina’s narration were slightly different. But even before their NC trip, the way they recall events and each other’s emotion or reaction are almost identical now. They really see through each other’s mind and heart now. Yep, they are truly soul mates. And your motormouth Alice is adorable and totally cracks me up! Thanks for another well-crafted, wonderful chapter, NAG! Looking forward to the wedding chapter. :>

This is such a sweet and loving story. It shows that family can be blood and very special people such as wonderful friends. Bette and Tina are so lucky to have friends who would do almost anything for them. Those same friends have been included in Tina’s biological family so it comes full circle.
