Papi observed Carmen even more, smiling to herself like a lunatic because according to her trusty memory, she had never gazed at a girl like this in the past. Even though she had added Carmen to the list of conquests in her journal, Papi considered her a heck of a lot more than anyone in that diary. And it was frightening that this girl acted as a threat to her reputation, much like Shane’s. But she was fair game, right?

Carmen slowly opened her eyes and turned around to face Papi who still wore that silly smile on her face like a five-year-old kid who had finished a caramel apple in one sitting. Caramel. “Hey…” Papi called. Carmen only looked up and held the white bed sheet in her hands against her chest. She asked Papi what time it was and she was easily supplied a response.

When Carmen started to rise, Papi stopped her with a kiss on the forehead. “Are you going home?” She kissed her again, on the left cheek this time, then on the nose, then the right cheek, and Carmen felt that Papi didn’t really want to hear her answer. When their lips were about to touch, Carmen turned her head to another side.

“I’m sorry but I have to go…”

There was this unexplainable sting in Papi’s chest and she was perturbed about the idea that she had probably got hurt by Carmen’s attitude towards her after waking up. People say that there’s always a first time for everything. The soreness from inside her shot up to her face and her expression said it all. “Why…? You can stay the night if you want to… It’s late.”

Carmen hesitated but replied anyway. “I can always take a cab back home, Papi. Don’t worry about it okay…?” She picked her clothes up, with the blanket wrapped around her body.

“What’s wrong…? Did I do something…?” Papi was breathing heavily now.

“No… I did.”

i rewatched the whole season one over again a couple of days ago.  and i was surprised how Tina looked so ridiculously hot and how she and Bette were the perfect couple. i forgot how good they looked together – also Jenny and Marina. Dang.

so what i did was download Joseph Arthur’s song called In The Sun (it was the song in the last episode of the first season where Alice showed up in Dana’s front door). now, whenever i hear this song, i just feel this weird pain. i just wish they didn’t axe Dana off the show… frustrating…
