Lara ”Well…if Gabby does go, we’ll deal with it.  And we will not intervene.”

Dana ”Lara…Lara, I don’t want Gabby breaking her heart again.”

Lara ”Maybe she won’t.  If she does…a ship in the middle of the ocean is not a good place to do it.”

Lara smirks, leading to mischievous laughter from Dana.

Alice’s apartment.

Alice prepares for her cruise, still shaking her head over the awkwardness of having Dana as a guest during her Chart radio show.  She receives a knock on the door.  Alice opens it.

Gabby ”Hey.”

Alice smiles.

Alice ”Hey, Gabby.”

Gabby ”Ready for the big cruise?”

Alice ”Yep.  Are you?”

Gabby ”Yes…and thanks for the ticket.  How were you able to get an extra?”

Alice flashes her eyes.

Alice ”I used my sweet talking abilities on the Olivia reps.  And also said that Dana would appreciate it if you came along.”

Gabby is amused.

Gabby ”Dana?  Ha!  I’m pretty sure she’s not interested she’s seeing me.”

Alice ”Well?  You got a ticket didn’t you?”

Gabby ”Yes.”

Alice ”Good.  Then yer goin’.  You…wanna prove yourself to be a friend.  This is where ya get to show it.”

Gabby ”I just wanted to make sure it was okay.  I mean…I don’t wanna get in the way between you and Dana.”

Alice ”What?”

Gabby ”Come on…you and Dana and Shane, all hanging out together.  And I know Shane’s not exactly fond of me.”

Alice ”Gabby.  You’re comin’ along.  I mean it.”

Gabby grins.

Gabby ”Yes ma’am.  I’ll see you in the morning.  Good night.”

Alice ”Good night.”

Gabby exits, leaving Alice to hope that whatever faith she has in Gabby does not get shattered.

The next day.

Mark’s friends are on their way to the airport, then to the ship for a much needed vacation.  For Mark, it is work.  It is go time.  Now standing before the studios, he holds his future in his hands.

They emerge from the limousine, Alice and Carmen arguing over contextual subplots of The Love Boat.  During this conversation, Dana has admitted her own crush from that show, the character of Julie.  Shane is mostly quiet, keeping an eye on Gabby.  Entering the airport, Shane pulls Gabby to the side as the conversation continues in front of them.
