Without Tim – Part 60 (Season 3 Finale Final Part)

Mark ”From what Tonya told me…fucking douchebag left his wife…ran off with some girl half his age and some serious coin.”

    Henry ”How much?”

Mark smokes his cigarette before answering.

    Mark ”I think about Ten-K.”

Tina ”Where did Shane’s Dad get Ten-Thousand dollars?”

    Helena ”Oh my God…”

Helena explains how she gave him the money to buy a wedding gift.  This leads to Peggy giving a heartfelt, but stern lecture and cutting Helena off financially.  Soon, Peggy is off, leaving with Marilyn in the stretch S.U.V. limousine.  Helena, absorbing what her mother has just told her is now in shock as Mark, Henry, and Tina look on.

Soon, Tina and Henry return to their suite.  They see Bette waiting there with Angelica.

    Bette ”Hey you two.”

    Tina smirks.

Tina ”Bette…couldn’t help but run off the babysitter.”

Bette ”I hope this doesn’t cause any problems…  After watching that…mess of a wedding.  I just wanted to feel some kind of closeness.  Little Angelica here…little Angie.  She has not a single clue about any of this hurt we’re all feeling.  None.  She’s the most blissful of all of us right now.”

    Tina ”Bette…”

Tina holds out her arms, motioning for the baby.  Bette stands, obliging carefully as she hands off Angelica to Tina.

    Bette ”I umm…I’m happy…for the two of you.  But…”

Bette turns her direction to Henry.

Bette ”You need to understand.  This baby…is ours.  If you can be a positive influence on her, that’s fine.  But…understand.  Tina and I brought this child into the world.”

Henry ”I understand that.  And I want…to be the father…for this child.”

Tina ”Henry…excuse us for a moment.”

Henry shakes his head and walks off.

Henry ”Alright.  Gonna get a drink at the bar.”

Bette and Tina watch Henry exit the room.

Bette ”I know, Tina.  He means well.  …I just don’t want to get the impression that he wants to take her away from me.”

Tina ”He’s not.  No one will.  We are both Angelica’s mothers…and that’s not gonna change.  Let’s just get back home…and work this out.  She deserves to have both of us in her lives.”

    Bette ”She does.”

Bette makes her way toward the exit.

Bette ”Just…don’t hold this against me.”

    Tina ”It’s fine, Bette.”

Tina kisses Angelica, who is asleep and places her in the crib.  She then walks up to Bette.

Bette ”…Just say you’re a crazy bisexual and I’ll accept it.”

Tina ”Fine.  I’m a crazy bisexual.  Now accept it.”

Bette smirks, leaning to a genuine grin, then smile which becomes infectious, leading to Tina doing the same.

Bette ”You know…despite everything…I’m glad we can still have these moments.”

    Tina ”So am I.”

    Bette backs away.

    Bette ”Good night.”

    Tina ”Good night, Bette.”

Tina watches Bette exit the door and despite all that has happened, she is thankful that is not out of her life completely.  Tina looks at baby Angelica.

Tina ”Mama Tee and Mama Bee are gonna work this out, baby.  I promise.”

Tina closes her eyes and makes her way to the bed.  Angelica meanwhile continues to sleep, having not the slightest clue the dramas that have surrounded her first year of life.  She only sleeps peacefully.

Bette, now in the hallway sees Helena standing at her door.

    Bette ”Helena?”

Helena looks back at Bette, emotionally drained.

Bette ”What’s wrong.  Did something happen?”

    Helena ”I’ve been cut off.”

    Bette ”Cut off?”

    Helena ”Financially.  I have nothing.”

Bette ”Jesus.  Because the wedding didn’t work out?”

Helena ”Mummy…wants me to prove that I can have friends…even if money wasn’t a factor.”

    Bette ”You already have.”

Bette walks to her door and opens it.

Bette ”You can crash on the couch if you want.”

Helena ”I just want to be able to talk to someone.”

Bette ”Helena, if all else fails, we’ll go get some drinks and make drunken fools out of ourselves.”

    Helena ”I can’t afford to.”

Bette ”Hey, it can always be worse.”

    Helena ”How?”

    Bette ”I don’t know…but let’s not think about it.”

    Helena ”Bette?”

    Bette ”Yes?”

    Helena ”…Are we…finally friends?”

Bette places her right arm around Helena and begins to walk toward the exit of the room she had just entered.

Bette ”Let’s find out.  Drinks are on me tonight.”

A year earlier, they were adversaries.  Now, they find themselves in friendship, both hoping for tomorrow to be much better than today.
