Bette’s mind is frazzled. She is fearful of losing everything. She is fearful of losing the one thing that matters most to her and that is being the mother to baby Angelica, who sleeps peacefully in her babyseat in the backseat of the car. She has driven near nonstop since crossing over into Washington from British Columbia and on through Oregon, only stopping to fuel up, eat, or change a diaper. She wants to get home.
Los Angeles.
Somewhere along the beach, Shane’s mind is adrift in anguish and regret. She finds herself back in the waiting arms of Cherie Peroni, formerly Cherie Jaffe. She was someone Shane could have loved, but it was not to be and now Cherie is far too wasted to comprehend what love even is anymore.
Somewhere in the sky.
Something has gone terribly wrong with the private jet. A freak mechanical failure leading to a destination none aboard wish to receive.

She is in her apartment, preparing to pay the exit fee for a place she had rarely called home much of the past year. Lara’s time to depart has come. Soon, she is set off for San Francisco and a new start. Fate has other plans.
Antigua.
Life is blissful for Peggy Peabody. She has been reacquainted with a lady named Marilyn Shepard. Marilyn is someone she had met back in Whistler, but they had known one another back in 1974. They were close once and now Peggy was determined to make that happen again. She is about to check her cellphone one last time before keeping it turned off for good in order to enjoy her romantic getaway.
Los Angeles.
The plan was to never go back. Carmen just could not bring herself to do so. She was too embarrassed. She was too heartbroken. She was too angry. She was no longer interested in ever setting foot in West Hollywood again. She was never interested in D.J. Sugar spinning her wheels of steel again there. Her old set could stay behind for all she cared, for she found it hard to care anymore. She was now with her family, with the radio playing music to help take Carmen’s mind off of things. However, that sense of peace is now being interrupted with a news bulletin.
