A single red dot flashed at the top right corner of a pitch black background.
“Okay you’re probably wondering ‘why am I watching my earth mother sitting in some hospital waiting room?’ well, your Momma B called me like, an hour ago all panicky and stuff saying that your Momma T’s water broke.”
“Since they chose me to be your earth mother, I thought it would be a great idea to film a few hours before your arrival. You get to see us before you came along.” Shane and Dana’s voices can be heard
“Hey, there’s Alice”
“Did she have the baby?”
“I don’t know, still waiting for Bette to come out. I picked up the ‘D-day Bag’”.
” That stands for Delivery Day, your momma B is the most anal person on the face of the earth”
“I think she prefers the term prepared”
“Whatever Ms. List wants to call herself”
“What’s up with the” “Is that a VHS camcorder?”
“Yeah, so?”
“Did you borrow it from Bob Saget?”
“Is it recording? Cause the lens cap is still on”
“Shit” Background goes from pitch black to a view of Alice retreating from the camera to join Shane and Dana sitting in front of a coffee vending machine looking at the camera.
“Do they even make VCR’s anymore?” Shane observes the camera
“Who even owns one still?” Dana is looking around the hospital
“Major loss of cool points here” Dana says
“Shut up” Alice gets up to stop the recording
<End taping>
Bette’s face is in the camera view talking to Shane, Dana and Alice who are now behind the camera
“We’re still waiting on Dr. Wilson”
“Whoops! Too close”
Camera zooms out to reveal Bette in hospital scrubs.
“That is your other mother. Say something to the baby Bette”
“Hi baby! Momma B loves you.” Blows a kiss to the camera
“Come on, T’s waiting”
Camera follows Bette, Shane and Dana as they walk down the hall toward the elevators passing by the nurse’s station.
“This is the hospital you are about to be born in, we are on our way to see your momma T. Doesn’t seem too busy tonight and that’s always a good sign”
One of the nurses notices their group and winks at Shane. Camera view loses Shane.

LOL. Yes, we DO read the author’s notes – every one of them! And Scrooge (my fave Dickins novel, by the way), you are forgiven for not posting… there is nothing quite as delicious as enjoying a story and knowing there are other chappys just waiting….. :-) Thank you!
