She would hear her describe her ex: this neurotic loser who first dumped her and then followed her all over West Hollywood when she tried to get on with her life, all the while making fun of her on the radio!
“Okay, this is not helping,” Alice stopped.
She felt trapped in her own body. She envied Dana’s ability to just run for miles when she was upset with herself. She chanced a walk on the beach instead.
Saturday Evening-
Dana watched Alice’s Mini pull into her guest spot from the window. They hadn’t spoken since Thursday when Dana had spent the night at Alice’s after their first session with Dr. Rudnick.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
“So, I was wondering how this works. What the rules are here. Do we have to wait till next Thursday to talk about us?” Alice bit her bottom lip, squinting at Dana for an answer.
Dana squinted back, considering the question.
“I think there are certain things we should wait to talk about with Dr. Rudnick there,” she told her.
“Of course,” Alice nodded. “Certain things.”
Dana gave Alice a ‘don’t patronize me Alice’ look.
“I want her there when we talk about theyou know.”
“Yes. I know Dana. I think we should have a whole ward of shrinks present for that discussion.”
“What did you want to talk about?” Dana asked nervously. It was her turn to bite her lip.
“I want to know why you broke up with Lara.”
“Alice.” Dana studied Alice warily.
“Really. I’ve never been able to ask you and no one has told me. Why did you break up with her?” Alice’s look was both stubborn and anxious.
Dana gave a full body sigh and opened her door wider.
“Come in.” she invited. Alice shuffled by giving her a sideways glance.
As she turned for the living room, Dana took her hand from behind with a soft tug.
“Wait.” Dana called, pulling her back toward her. She surprised them both with a kiss.
“What was that for?” Alice wondered.
“Thought we could use it?” Dana shrugged. Alice smiled.

DO you just like teasing people and toying with our emotions? j/k Like I always say, I would gladly take your season 3 over the current crop of terriying evil spoilers/rumors. Actually you make so much more sense than the show itself. Can I just say how much I Love the final scene? Just prefect *sigh*
I just can’t tell you enough how much I love this story. Great writing and great job conveying the Danish angst/romance. I too wish this is what we’d be treated to in season 3. Thanks for writing.
Awww! Dana falling asleep with her head in Alice’s lap was perfect!
You know what else would have been perfect? Nookie. Lol, just teasing. Since you’ve been kind enough to do it to us. Your idea of Alice stalking makes more sense than EZ writing for the show. Maybe it was her idea in the first place!? Anyway, I talk too much. I’m just going to say thank you for cancelling out the couch and moving them over to the bed. So please post soon!
Cape, I think you raised the bars for all the Danish fic writers because I’ve read a lot of Season 3 spoilers’ motivated fanfics but none of them was this brave and real. Most of them never dealt with the stalking plot. It seems it’s gonna be a hard and long ride with this story but I’m so loving it
Great take on the nasty S3 spoilers Capesquad (or should I say Ms Capesquad!) Loving that their time with each other is almost awkward and the way you illustrate that but clearly there is a depth of feeling which allows them get beyond that. Looking forward to next week!
I really enjoyed reading your spin on the spoilers and how you made Alice reflect on her actions. Loved this line, “Because she didn’t feel like home and she wasn’t going to…” I thought it was sweet. Great chapter…anxiously looking forward to the next one

Now, what didn’t I love about this chapter? Oh that’s right. Nothing. It was all great: Dana and Alice wondering what is and isn’t ‘allowed’; Dana wondering if it was a date; poor Alice anticipating the stalking dscussion with a ward of shrinks; and Dana’s reason, so simple, for breaking up with Lara. It always amazes me that you manage to convey so much in so few words. The pace was perfect; as was the ending. Do we really have to wait a week for the next one?
fantastic! you have such great lines in your stories. you did a great job portraying the scenario and feelings of two people who aren’t broken up but not together and how it feels. excellent!

You really are making the spoiler a little easier to take, if only you wrote for the show, because I just have a feeling they won’t do as good of a job as you have. The background you gave really helped to show why Alice and Dana interacted the way they did at the beginning of your story. I was so happy to see that this chapter extended into the present time. I’ve been sitting here trying to understand the soothing sense of quiet I felt reading this part. All I’ve been able to come up with so far is that as much as Lara was not home for Dana, we all know that Alice is her home. I was surprised by the extent you were able to make me feel that in this chapter. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Check out the lyrics to the song I sent you.
