Andrew stood outside the gym door watching Carmen punch her frustration out a punch bag.
“Is she okay?” Declan asked
“She will be, she’s just dealing with some stuff, just leave her too it” Andrew lifted his bag
“She’s not spoke a word all day, were worried about her” Kenzie admitted
“I know, she’s fine I promise, just leave her to deal.” Andrew explained to them
He walked outside with the other two “I’ll see you both tomorrow” Andrew said before getting in his car. He decided to think out the box and drove straight to Bette and Tina’s. He took a deep breath as he got out the car. Walking up the path his head was doing overtime, he knocked on the door.
“Hiya is Jess home?”
“She’s not, I hope you’re not here on Carmen’s behalf” Lisa said
“I am actually but she doesn’t know I’m here, I was hoping to speak to Jess”
Tina and Bette appeared behind Lisa.
“Jess isn’t home, she’s taking some time for herself” Tina explained “Come in”
“Would you like tea or coffee mate?” Jace asked
“Coffee would be great” Andrew smiled “Been one of those days”
“I can imagine” Tina agreed “How is she?”
“Angry, Broken, Deflated” Andrew said “She could fall into any of them”
“She should have told Jess the truth” Lisa admitted
“Look I agree with you 100 percent and I’ve told Carmen that, it’s more complicated that all that though, I went to university with them both, Shay isn’t a bad guy”
“Look if you’re going to defend him I don’t want to hear any of it” Lisa got up
“Lisa can you just listen for a second, your one of Carmen’s best friends, take the fact Jess is your sister out the equation, have you never made a mistake?” Andrew stated
Lisa sat back down.
“Carmen was a mess first 2 years of university, she was drunk A LOT.” Andrew told them “Everywhere she turned, every magazine she read she had Jess’s new relationship or career in her face”
“So this is Jess’s fault?” Lisa asked
“No I never said that, I’m not justifying Carmen lying all I’m saying is Jess got into a relationship, Carmen didn’t it was drunk sex and to be honest Shay would have killed for Carmen to make them official he was besotted with her, He would take her home and put her to bed, he’d make sure she was up in time for her classes, he held her hair when she was puking her guts up and he wiped away her tears. I also done my fair share of it” Andrew explained
“She could have called us” Lisa said
“Your Jess’s family and Lisa you’re the spitting image of Jess let’s be serious” Andrew stated
“All Carmen wanted was Jess to fight for her”
“So she slept with Shay? How the hell does that work?” Lisa snapped
“All Jess wanted was Carmen to fight for her, Jess took the world on her shoulders, she was getting pressure from all angles” Jace stated “We all were”
“Shay was there Jess wasn’t, I don’t know really” Andrew stated “Look I love Jess I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know her, I hated her before I met her because I seen the mess Carmen was in”
Bette and Tina sat listening to everything being said
“I seen the mess Jess was in” Jace said “Your forgetting I watched her get punched about”
“look the two of them have equally hurt each but they are both crazy about the other” Andrew explained
“Carmen spends all this time nagging at Jess for not opening up, or tell not telling her how she feels, not once has Carmen ever told Jess how she feels” Jace stated “Jess was always the bad one for going after her dream or moving on after a year might I add”
“I don’t think Jess is angry at the fact Carmen slept with someone else, it’s the lies and secrecy behind it” Bette said
“No she’s angry she slept with a guy” Lisa butted in “She’s fuming about the lies and secrecy”
“Carmen’s also fuming she slept with a guy” Andrew said “Everytime she slept with him she was drunk and read something about Jess and Kirsty”
“So you’re saying he took advantage?” Jace asked
“No I’m saying they were both in uni, partying drinking and being students!” Andrew corrected “Look I got married in uni and divorced 6 month later and had a kid, Not saying my kid is a mistake but my ex-wife sure as hell was”
“Where is Carmen?” Lisa asked
“At the gym punch the life out of a punch bag” Andrew explained “Shay is gutted about all this, He fell in love with a lesbian for god sake, then he met jess thought she was hot and then got told who she was, I think the joke is on him”
Lisa smirked
“His attitude is pathetic” Tina stated
“I agree, he’s just trying to act tough and brace, he’s surrounded by a Jess fan club who all want to take a sledge hammer to his head” Andrew explained “Your all hating on Carmen too, she’s got me here that’s it. Her family are in New York”
“Excuse me…were not hating on Carmen at all” Bette corrected
“I’ll admit I was hard on her” Tina stated “I felt Jess was getting laughed at behind her back and I wasn’t okay with that”
“I understand that completely”
“Andrew you need to understand Jess is my twin, if she’s hurting I’m hurting” Lisa sighed
“Where were all you when Carmen was hurting at university?” Andrew said
“Doing my own degree, I spoke to her nearly every week and she didn’t say a word to me, infact I thought she was having a blast at university” Lisa got up “Seem she’s good a keeping her mouth shut about things”
“Well I can personally tell you she didn’t, she was lucky to graduate, It was only when we moved from campus to the academy she got her act together” Andrew got up “Thanks for the coffee”
“Thanks for coming over” Bette said showing him to the door
She closed the door behind him looking at her wife.
Jace sighed turning and walking up the stairs
“What do I do?” Lisa asks “I feel like an arse this would be so much easier if Carmen wasn’t my friend”
“We do nothing we let them sort it out between them”
“I have Jess’s engagement ring” Lisa said “Jess won’t take it”
“Then you give it to Carmen till Jess is ready to take it” Bette explained
“I’ll give it to Carmen, give it to me” Tina said
Lisa left the room going up to her bedroom to get the ring.
