You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap11)
"T- are you ok?"
"I remember… being here, with all of you, throwing a table down, hurting….crying…"
They all looked around at each other and then all looked to Bette, who stood up and put her arm around Tina.
"Yea T- you remember? That did happen. Do you remember anything else?"
And just as fast as the memory had entered her mind it was gone.
"No it’s gone." She sat back down and began to weep into her hands. The girls all got up to give she and Bette a moment.
"T- come here- let me hold you."
"No Bette- I just need a minute alone ok."
"Ok"
Bette walked away like the others just had. This was the first time that she felt Tina push her away. It was a horrible feeling.
Tina got up and went to the restroom. She came back and found Bette.
"Um Bette I’m really tired can you please take me home."
"Of Coarse."
Tina said a brief goodbye to the girls and they grabbed up Angie and went back home. Tina was very distant. She went straight into the guest room and closed the door. Bette didn’t see her again till late that afternoon. Angie was down for a nap and Tina came out into the backyard where Bette was reading.
"Hi" Tina said quietly
"Hi." Bette said back with as little emotion as possible.
"Bette I’m sorry about this morning. I just got frustrated when I remembered for a second and then it was gone and I wished I could remember more."
"I know T- I just wish you would let me be there for you and support you."
"I’m trying- but it’s not easy for me. I mean as far I know we met 2 days ago!"
"But Tina you feel a connection with me- I know you do. I see it in the way you look at me and the way you touch me. You have to feel it!"
"I do feel something- I’m not sure it’s as strong as you want it to be though. You are expecting me to fall in love with you in 2 days and it’s just not going to happen." Tina voice was now getting elevated.
Bette was crushed by this.
"Tina you are the love of my life, and as of 2 days ago I thought nothing could change our love. My heart is breaking. I don’t know what to do" and with that Bette broke down.
Tina was speechless. She didn’t know how to make it any better. She didn’t know how to comfort Bette.
Bette sat on the lounger crying her eyes out and all Tina did was watch. It was Bette’s turn to pull away. She went inside and into her room and was locked away for most of the day. Angie woke up and Tina got her and played with her for the rest of the day. It a good distraction. Tina didn’t know what to do next.
Tina decided to give Bette her space so she made dinner and ate with Angie- saving some for Bette to eat later. She then put on a movie for Angie to watch and decided she would check on Bette. She came up to the door and had no idea what she was going to say or do once she got inside she just knew she wanted to get inside somehow. She knew Bette was right- she did feel a connection to her. She didn’t know if it was love, but it could be, and she had been so harsh with Bette.
Tina knocked on the door and heard nothing. She knocked a little louder and still nothing. She decided to take a chance to see if the door was unlocked and it was, so she peered her head in. Bette was laying in the dark room and looked to be asleep. Tina couldn’t just leave so went in the room and over to the bed. She looked down at Bette who’s eyes were puffy and felt so much guilt. How can she make this woman feel better.
"T" Bette said in a sleepy voice.
Tina wasn’t sure if Bette was talking to her or dream so she waited. Bette began to cry in her sleep.
"Please T, please come back to me. I’m nothing without your love."

well i have the answer to my own internal question that I never wanted to put out there in the comment…”would tina remember the bad things first or helena, before her good life with Bette/Angie”
You know I never thought about it that way….that Tina might remember the bad things that happened between her and Bette before she remembers the good things. I love this story. PPS
With the quick vision of the table-tossing, it might be that Tina may get the bad stuff first. But, as long as her memory comes back, she has Bette and the girls to get her through. Hi, LuvTibette, beat you again.
I guess it’s better Tina remember the bad things first after all. It’s heart breaking but I prefer it n tis order lol the good last and or ever. Thank you for the post love it. PPVS
Oh My God, that was so sad. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
wow – you’ve given Bette and Tina quite a hoop to jump thru…
I, too, was hoping that Tina wouldn’t remember the bad things first but those were the most traumatic and would probably be what she remembered most. Damn it. Hopefully she will surely connect with Bette and the good feelings that she has when she is near Bette as well as with Angie. I thought that she might remember the love she felt for Angie and of course, the love Angie has for her which is monumental. Oh well, baby steps are needed before any big happening. Thanks for posting.
alice is hilariousxDBeautiful story. You made it very realistic, almost made me cry too
This is so good, a very interesting premise and so emotional. Shane’s answer was very touching. Between Tina, Bette, and Angie this brings up so many feelings and thoughts regarding love and memory – how they relate to or maybe even transcend one another. Thank you for taking us on this journey.
Oh, that is so sad. Poor Bette! I hope Tina gets her memory back soon….and not the bad stuff first.:)
God you’re breaking my heart here..I cry with every chapter!!
I don’t think so, that Tina wouldn’t feel the love for Bette.
You’re right, this was a sad chapter. Let’s hope the next memory jog is a happy one.
Great update. Looking forward to more.
OH my Tina is going to relive the bad parts first…oh this drama is continuing for a while….for sure….but it will at least get her back poor Bette no matter what she does it just always follows her !
Oh no, my heart is breaking. The girls did well at breakfast and at least Tina had a spurt of a memory although not one that we want to remember. Now Bette is so heartbroken feeling that she will lose the love of her life again.
This story is what I call deluxe tear-jerker drama supreme! Get out the kleenex, it’s gonna be a wet one! Either Tina will remember or Bette will die of heartache. Thanks!
Great update and was so sad. Thank you for this story :) At least Tina is remembering something be it a bad thing but it will all get better I’m sure! Thank you again!
The whole chapter was touching, but that last sentence had me crying in my morning tea!! (It was a perfect sentence.) Thanks!!
This is my new favorite story! I love it! PPS
That is sad!
