    Bette began to play with Angie in the sand. Tina sat back and watched- she thought – this is where I belong!

    Previously 

    Well we had decided to have a beach date. We had been out on maybe 3 official dates and not slept together yet. We were out here all day and had a great time together. All of the sudden you just looked at me- and it was that look I was talking about earlier and I knew. And then you leaned in and kissed me. You didn’t even need you to say it, but you did and it is the best 3 words I’ve ever heard."  "I love you" Bette said quietly

    Tina now had her arms wrapped around Bette. She didn’t know if it was the wine or all the stories she and Bette had shared tonight, but she felt the love. She wanted to express that love to Bette in more ways than just telling her.

    Chapter 18

    They stayed cuddled up together for a quite a while. Enjoying the view and the closeness. Tina wished she could be brave and kiss Bette or touch her in some way to let her know that she was feeling what she was feeling. Something held her back though. She didn’t want to hurt her- not again. She didn’t want their connection to be broken when she woke up in the morning and she knew that there were some bad memories that she needed to deal with before she moved forward. She also knew that she didn’t want this night to end.

    "T- you ready to head home?"

    "Ahh actually is it ok if we stay out here just like this for a little while longer."

    Bette smiled her 1000 watt smile "Of coarse."

    Bette laid back and let Tina lie on her chest. They pulled the blanket up so it was now covering their legs. Tina just listened to Bette’s heart beating along with the waves. She could fall asleep just like this.

    Bette decided to break the silence even though she was scared because she didn’t want them to move

    "So T- did we have a good first date?"

    Tina lifted her head and looked into Bette’s eyes.
    "Amazing"

    "So I guess that means you will let me take you out again."

    "Of coarse. Can’t wait"

    The girls laid in each other’s arms for a while longer.

    1. What a perfect end and morning after for their perfect date! I love that they talked, cuddled, kissed, got teased by Kit, and spent time with Angie :-) Tina is making progress and I’m sure it won’t always be roses – but I have to say in many ways seeing Tina re-discovering herself, Bette, her friends and family – is also very interesting and a great angle in this story. As are Bette’s reactions and choices. Thank you and please post again soon!

    12. Oh LGLB…(happiest of happy sighs) – – this was wonderful! I’m jumping up and clicking my heels (well, really I’m sitting typing this and am wearing flip flops at the moment but you get my drift!). I know you love the drama, but you’re so good at writing the TiBette love that gets my heart fluttering! Their date…kiss…reconnecting…and family time – all perfect except for one thing – more, more and more! PS Yah, you’re a tease but one – at least you admit it and two – as they say, takes one to know one ;) Ha!
