You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap24)

"ooo look at this beautiful family." Kit yelled as they entered the Planet

"Hey Kit" Bette went to greet her sister with a hug

"Hey baby sis. Hey Tina. And hey you beautiful little thing." she grabbed Angie and kissed her and hugged her tightly. The little girl hugged her Aunt back.

"So we are just gonna grab some lunch and then head home, put Angie down for a nap and get ready to head out of town."

"Oh yea- you two looking forward to getting away for a bit?"

Neither one of the girls answered- they just looked at each other though and smile softly.

"Ok I guess I will take that as a yes." Kit smiled back "Go seat and relax and I’ll send someone right over to take your order."

"Thanks Kit" Bette said as she guided Angie to a table in the back

    "What’s on your mind T?"

    "uh?"

"Come on- haven’t we been through this- I know you! I can tell you have something on your mind so spill it." Bette was trying to keep things light.

"Well it just seems like everyone is really pulling for us and excited about us going away. It just feels nice to have close friends and family."

"Yes I get that sense too- but it doesn’t really matter what everyone else wants ok- it’s about what you and I want."

"I know- but I was just thinking it felt nice to not be the only ones who are concerned about our lives."

"Yea I do agree with you on that one."

The family enjoys the rest of their lunch and heads home. Angie falls asleep in the car. Bette takes her inside and puts her in bed and goes to their bedroom to pack. Tina is already in there and staring blankly at her closet.

"I have no idea what to pack- I mean how do you dress for a weekend like this." Tina asked as kind of a joke

"well you just need to be comfortable. So I would say yoga pants and tanks and maybe a few hoodies if we we want to sit out on the deck. We won’t be going anywhere so you don’t have to impress anyone."

"What about you- I don’t have to impress you." Tina asked flirting a little

"Tina you always impress me and it has nothing to do with the clothes you wear on your body." Bette winked as she walked towards the bathroom.

Tina felt so lucky. She was going this incredible difficult time, but she thanked God that she had Bette in her life and she had Bette to go through this with her. I mean she couldn’t imagine having to go through this alone. She was now getting excited about their weekend together.

    1. I really wish Tina was a little more… understanding toward Bette. I know she’s going through a tough time, but this is push and pull to the extreme. Bette’s being really supportive, but things would work better if they had a steady forward pace rather than starts and stops. Just do what feels natural, Tina, and stop caring about everything else. But don’t jump her when you get the happy memories and then kick her when you realize you don’t really know her. It’s not cool and it’d be the kinda of behavior that would eventually break up even the strongest of relationships. Anyway, this was a great update. PPS!

    2. Thanks for the update. I hope the weekend away alone brings them closer together. I think Bette is doing an amazing job of being supportive and loving with Tina. Maybe this time away without outside interference will help her to better understand where Tina is coming from so that it won’t feel so much like she’s going from one extreme to the other. I think Tina is doing the best she can under the circumstances too. I think her memories trigger her emotions, she acts on them but doesn’t have a foundation to keep building on at this point. That has got to be really frightening. Please post again soon.

    3. I feel for Tina. It’s not easy being her right now; she loves Bette but doesn’t remember much. And Bette is unusually ‘a saint’. Loving the story. Thk u.
