You Can Always Remember What You Can Never Forget (Chap8)
"What if I don’t get my memory back Bette?" Tina said as she let Bette hold her hand
"You will T. It’s day one- you have to give it a little time ok. Listen you have been through a lot in the past 24 hours. Why don’t we table the disscussion of our past for a few days ok. And just get you settled."
"Yea I think that is a good idea. I do want to hear more, but I do need a break for now."
"Ok- well Angie should be here in an hour or so do you wanna go rest for a bit?"
"Yea good idea." Tina finally pulled her hand away from Bette. She was beginning to really like any contact she could have with Bette. And she knew that Bette was desperate to have any kind of connection with her as well.
Tina went to lie down while Bette cleaned up dinner and tried again to figure out what to do next. She would give anything to go crawl in bed with Tina and hold her and kiss her. She still couldn’t believe this is happening.
Bette was able to occupy herself until she heard someone knocking on the door. She opened the door to see her daughter looking up at her.
"Hey Sweet Pea- did you fun with Auntie Kit?"
"Yep" She ran in and into her room to start playing.
Bette went out to see Kit in the car.
"I thought you could use some space."
"Thanks so much Kit."
"Anytime- she was an angel as always but she was ready to come home and see her mamas."
"Yea I’m interested to see how this is gonna go. I better get back in there and make sure they don’t run into each other by accident."
Bette walked back into the house and felt a huge wave of nervousness. Should she wake up Tina or wait till she woke up? She knew Angie would want her mama soon.
She went to check on Angie who was well occupied playing with her dolls. She then snuck into the guest room and saw that Tina had drifted off to sleep. She had decided that it was probably best to wake her up and give her a heads up that Angie was home. She gently sat on the edge on the bed. God she could watch Tina sleep for hours. She looked so peaceful. Bette reached out and moved a stray piece of hair off of Tina’s face. Tina let out a small moan. Bette could barely contain herself. She so wanted to wake up her up by kissing her lips gently. Tina opened her eyes and looked up at Bette.
"Hey" Bette whispered softly.
"Hi" Tina whispered back.
Bette looked into Tina’s eyes and she thought for a second she saw recognition.
"T? Do you remember?"
"Um no sorry Bette I don’t"
"Oh ok it was just the way your were looking was kinda like you always look at me."
"I’m sorry."
Bette quickly got up from the bed and tried her best to hold back her tears.
"Um Angie is home. She is in her room playing. So how should we do this?"
"Well I was thinking about it. Why don’t we just tell her I have a boo boo and sometimes I forget things- but I will remember soon."
"Ok T- good idea."
"So do you wanna go see her?"
"Yes I do"
Bette walked out of the room and stood at the doorway to Angie’s room. Tina was close behind her. She stood next to Bette and saw her daughter for the first time.
She couldn’t help the tears flowing.
"Bette- she is so beautiful"
"I know. Just like her Mama T"
Tina looked to Bette and smiled.
As the two adults were looking at each other Angie noticed her audience.
"Mama T!!!!"
Angie ran over to Tina and grabbed onto her leg
"Hi Angie" Tina picked her and held her close.
"Why cryin Mama?"
"I’m just happy baby. Sometimes you cry when you are happy."
"Ok"
Tina put Angie down and she resumed playing with dolls. Bette was watching Tina to see if anything came back to her. They both walked out of the room to discussed what just happened.
"T.. are you ok?"
"I don’t remember Bette." Tina said tears now freely flowing down her face. "I feel a connection to her, but I cant remember what she looked like as a baby or what she likes to eat for breakfast."
Bette no longer cared about scaring Tina off she had to comfort her. She moved quickly to her and wrapped her arms around her. Tina allowed herself to fall into Bette, resting her head on Bette’s shoulder.
"Bette I don’t remember our daughter!"

Eventhough Bette’s heart is breaking, I’m glad she came clean with Tina about their past and didn’t hide anything. I know it’s too soon, but something tells me if they made love, Tina’s memory would come flooding back! LOL Please post soon because I’m loving this story a lot!
