She stretches and looks at the clock on her computer screen. It’s three now so you have time to go home shower pack a few things and meet me back here by six and I will drive you to the airport. Sorry the company jet is down for maintenance so I booked you a flight on American Airlines. It’s a jet, first class, you will arrive at ten thirty six. Right here is your ticket and all your information.

Adjusting herself in Bette’s lap looking at the ticket feeling upset. You’re serious? You’re sending me away?  Tears in her eyes. You’re upset with me, you don’t want me around. Tina swallows hard trying to chock back the lump in her throat… I’m such an ass, but I said I’m sorry for taking my frustrations out on you. And driving you to….. to not wanting to be near me. Tina lets the tears fall.

That’s not it… That’s not it at all sweetheart… Bette touches Tina’s hand….I’m worried about you.  Baby you’re worn out mentally. I can see it in your eyes and I know if you stay you will only think of work. Do you know how hard this is going to be on me? I miss you already but you need this and I won’t take no as an answer. Not wanting to fight with Bette she promises herself she wouldn’t do that anymore. If this is what Bette wanted she wasn’t going to stop it…. Ok and I can understand you need a break from me also. I really can see that I’m a basket case. Wiping her face.

No, I just said I’m not sending you away because of me. You know I’ll miss you but you need this time to rest. A lot has happened since we met. A lot of drama and this week was a rough one. So go. Bette is trying her best to stay strong because Tina is tugging at her hearts strings. She knows this is going to be rough on her being away from her baby and most of all knowing she’s not enough this time to help Tina with what she’s needing. Wanting to just hold her and make it all better isn’t going to work for this situation. Tina needs to be away from everything and everyone including her.
