I made a run to the printers early, They always print a few before it goes to full print production. I thought maybe they would like to see the first magazine their daughter completed on her own. Bette knew those three words meant a lot to Tina.
But it wasn’t all just me, there a lot that goes on besides what I do. I just take everyone’s work and put it all together.
Exactly, there would be no magazine anywhere without a layout person to fit their work into an issue and make them look good. And you’re that person. You did a great job and I’m not just saying it because we’re together but as a boss.
Tina gave her a kiss.. Thank you, You don’t know what this means to me. Bette thinking oh yes I do.
They walk in to the kitchen… well it’s about time you two… Lynn squawks
Sorry it was my fault.. Bette gives her a hug then Grams who is smiling from ear to ear.
You sail much Bette? Grams asks.. with a sneaky grin.
Pardon? Looks confused
Oh don’t pay her no mind she’s pulling your leg because she saw you two out front earlier. Lynn tells her.
Bette and Tina look at each other with red faces. Oh I’m sorry, didn’t know anyone was watching, Bette tells her.
Yeah, I had to make her sit down. Lynn says.
Oh Pooh!.. And don’t you be sorry. It reminded me of my Lloyd.
How so Grams ? Tina asks squatting in the floor in front of her. Tina was always interested in hearing stories her grandmother told. Bette takes a seat at the table.
Well when your granddad and I first dated the war had been going on for a couple years . And when he became of age he was drafted into the Navy. He left and I wasn’t sure I would see him again. Then he came home for a few days after all his training. He came back to ask me to marry him. And we did. I knew he was to be shipped out that week to God knows where and I wanted him to know he had some where to come back to.. something to live for you know? Tina is tearing up but nods her head understanding..
Hattie stares off out the window to the sky, like she was reliving this next part. Well I got pregnant on my wedding night with Lloyd Jr. I wrote Lloyd and let him know. I wrote just about every day, I got a few back. Then nothing but I kept writing I had the Baby and I told him all about it. Then five months went by since his last letter. There was a taxi that had pulled up out front and at first I didn’t know who it could be then I saw him get out. I ran just like Tina did when you pulled up. Hattie has now turned back around with tears of joy…he spun me around just like that.. as we kissed… oh my.. That was a happy day…and You two just brought it all back to life for me. Thank you.
You’re welcome Grams but we didn’t know we were doing all that!. Tina says grinning and looking back at Bette. And Bette was thinking yep the air, it’s stimulating, must have been when it all started.

It is purely good luck i got to read and comment first, i have a free weekend and i work late/day and morning shifts. Sometimes i am not able to read or comment when i recieve a notification, i do have to work and sleep, or spending time with my lovely wife or friends.

GM! Its great to come in from a long and hard night of work to find this amazing story! I was pissed cause I had to work a night shift. Something I haven’t done in over 10 years. They let a manager go so I have to cover her shifts this weekend. Shit pissed me off to no end! Didn’t get home util 1:30 am and can’t go to sleep. Have to be at a meeting at 9 am. I love this story so much! It did take my mind off being pissed for a few minutes. Glad Bette read Sasha ass now to put Bobbie ass in check. I pray she waits until Tina is with her to do that. I love me some Grams also! Off for a short nap now cause its 3:21 am. PPS
cellphone I hope you’re surviving this weekend, I hate third shift too been longer than ten years since I had to do that, I don’t think I could hang I hate second shift as well. I’m a morning person I like my shift 5am till 1pm. just wished I was off every weekend and it would be perfect. glad my story was there for your cool down.

Wow. Can I just say how much I love Grams, she reminds me so the older folks back home in North Carolina. So Bette surprised Tina, that was sweet. Tina needs to trust in her woman more and get a thicker skin, someone is always going to be jealous of their relationship and try to sabotage it.
