“Do we have to?”
Bette responded to her assistant.
“Come on. We’ve been
working insane hours for the past two months.
I need a break.” Clara stated.
“Fine. One club. I’m not staying out all night.” Bette snapped.
“Easy there crabby. I
know the perfect place!” Clara
exclaimed.
‘Don’t say the Planet, don’t say the Planet.’ Bette chanted in her mind, hoping Clara
wouldn’t choose her sister’s club and the gang’s favorite hang out. She had plans to see Kit later and wasn’t
going anywhere near the Planet if she could help it.
“This club, Burden, opened like two years ago. It’s supposed to be the place to be for
lesbians in LA.” Clara explained while
throwing Bette a pleading look.
After five more minutes of Clara’s non-stop begging, Bette
had given in, if only to momentarily stop the younger woman’s talking.
“Fine.” Bette said
and she turned her eyes to the world outside once again.
Bette had kept in contact with
over the past few years. They exchanged
emails and phone calls a few times a month but nothing significant. Bette knew that Tina was still in LA, but
never went into specifics. Bette knew
she was not to contact or attempt to contact Tina at any time. It was almost as if Tina and Shane had
disappeared.
‘Tina. Tina. Where
are you?’ Bette thought as she gazed out the window.
Two and a half hours later Bette was still waiting in line
at Burden, the stupid nightclub Clara had insisted upon.
‘Three years ago I wouldn’t have had to wait in line
anywhere in
giving her polite smiles and obligatory waves before quickly turning to their
companions to whisper rapidly. Bette
wasn’t sure what was happening, but she felt that there was something she
didn’t know.
“Bette! We’re almost
in.” Clara exclaimed as another group of
women entered the doors of Burden.
Bette had to laugh at Clara’s visible excitement. She missed being that young and happy.
‘Stop. Don’t go there.’ Bette kicked
herself mentally. Just as Bette turned
to reply to Clara she noticed two familiar figures making their way past the
crowd and into Burden.
“Dana! It wasn’t my
fault!”
“You couldn’t have closed the door, Al? Perhaps even locked it?”
“How was I supposed to know that your mom.”
“
asked from a few feet away. Alice and
Dana both turned as the voice registered in their minds.
“Bette?”
asked. “What the ***** are you doing
here?” She questions as she stared at
her old friend.
“Well I’m glad you’re happy to see me.” Bette replied sarcastically.
“Ummsorry.”
stammered as she gave Bette a quick hug.
“I thought you weren’t coming until next week.”
“We had to come out early.
I was going to call you in the morning.”
Bette answered. “This is my
assistant Clara, who insisted that we come out for a drink tonight. It’s been an hour and there are no drinks in
sight.”
“Why did you choose Burden?”
Dana asked bluntly while casting a glance at
thought that she was just being wellDana.
“I heard that it’s supposed to be the best club in LA.”
Clara explained. “So I annoyed Bette
until she agreed to come.”
“That’s pretty much” Bette started to add before she was
interrupted by
“Not really,”
quickly. “There are much better clubs.”
“Yeah,” Dana said.
“Let’s go someplace else. No one
goes here.”
Bette cast a glance at the nervous couple. “No one goes here? This line is a block long. It looks like everyone goes here.”
“Well we don” Dana started.
Just then the bouncer spotted the couple and unlocked the
rope, “Dana, Alice. I didn’t see you
earlier, I apologize. They aren’t here yet,
but should be shortly.”
“Uhhhthanks Jake.”
responded just before turning around and saying, “Let’s go somewhere else.”
“Can we stay for one drink?” Clara asked. “It sounds like your friends are going to be
here soon anyway.”
“Come on guys.” Bette
said as she looked between them. “Let’s go in.”
Something was definitely up with those two.

I think Shane and Tina are together.
oh no man Tina and Shane have nothing in common nothing..but its your story and i´m wondering what is going to happen next..

Sorry to see that Tina was never pregnant the second time. That’d be a shocker for Bette, now, wouldn’t it?
No! Tina cannot be with Shane….just isn’t right….besides this story and all others MUST end with Bette and TINA together…and then Shane will be heartbroken…..AHHHH! Tell us more!
I think everybody needs to let morrison write the story the way morrison wants to, whether Shane and Tina wind up together or not. Mkay? Kay.

Oh man! I’m starting to relish trying to guess the outcome of (some, mind you I said some and I might add–rarely!) of these cliffies…I’m guessing that this club belongs to Tina or Shane (or both???) Just wondering because the gut at the door is expecting them like they’re regulars and why else would they hang somewhere regularly other than the Planet…UNLESS!…Tina a had a falling out w/ Kit over Bette or over the fact that she IS w/Shane! SHIT! SHIT!! SHIt!!!! Did I just say that I liked these cliffies? I am such a liar! Don’t listen to me. I am going to go mad just thinking about what will happen next! My imagination is running away with me already and I’ve only just finished reading this one!!! LOL! Please put an end to this craziness and post soon!!!! Please? Thanks :)
