    Alice shook her head and walked over to switched off the hi-fi. She wiped her tears away. She saved her works on the laptop before switching it off, locked the doors and windows, off the lights and went to her bedroom. She sat on her bed and took off her glasses. She lie down, as she cried softly to her sleep.


    2 weeks later

     


    As Alice was cracking up her head trying to concentrate on her article, her cell phone rang. She hesitated for a minute when she saw the caller ID. Shane.The last time she keep in touch with the group was 5 months ago, before she decided to accept the job offer and left for London. She exhaled as she pressed the answer button.

    "Hi, Shane"

    "Hi, Al. How are you?"

    "I’m fine. How are you?"

    "Yeah, I’m fine too."

    There was an ackward silence after that. Shane decided that she had to break the news to Alice.

    "Al, I am sorry that I had to tell you this. I’m so sorry." Shane began to sob.

    "What’s wrong, Shane? Why are you crying?" Alice was surprised.

    "Al, do you think you could come back to LA by this week? Please, I need you to be here. Please Al." Shane pleaded.

    "I don’t think I can.."

    "No!"

    "What happened? Tell me!"

    "Al, I can’t now…please…" this was the only word that Shane could say now. Shane was basically crying louder and Alice could tell something bad had happened. Shane was her best friend and Alice would do anything for her. She still remembered how Shane used to be supportive around her after Dana broke up with her. She was a wreak, yelling and crying all the time and even resolved to use drug to minimize her pain. But Shane was there to rescue her. She thought she owed her life to Shane. If it wasn’t Shane Alice didn’t know where she would stand now.

    1. Aw Poor howie. I loved the start UhHUH. POOR AL. That is some powerful stuff. I can’t wait to see where you pick up with Dana breaking up with Alice because she knew she was sick.

    2. Please uhhuh?? I can’t take it. My heart sank as Sharon said, “I guess this is Dana’s last wish.” You can’t do this. Please, I beg you to let D live. It does not matter how much time has passed, the sad & bitter feeling of S3E10 still lingers. I like your idea of D trying to save A from watching her cancer progressed. But I still believe that death was unnecessary. A & D belonged together. Please reconsider. Thank you very much. p.s. you may consider marking the pairing when you post, so that readers can find your post when looking for Dana & Alice. I have never posted but I am sure MaGoose or other writers will be glad to give you a hand.

    3. Wow! Very powerfully written. Excellent start, uhhuh!! What an interesting take on the story to have Dana breaking up with Alice because she knew about the cancer. I am glad the Fairbanks family was playing nice with the rest of the group. That is a good touch, as well. Once again, you have me hooked. I hope Alice can give Dana the strength to fight. Thanks so much for the new Danish!!
