“You are a great mom Tina “
“We both are – and she is testament to our skills “
“If she is how we have parented while we were apart she is going to be one hell of a young woman now that we are together “
“She is making progress already – everyone says that “
“I don’t think I could be prouder of either of you “
“I feel the same – how are you feeling ?”
“Bit dodgy – I might have to go and have a sleep “
“Take a bucket in case you throw up “
Bette smiled
“I will make sure that if I throw up I make it into the bathroom “
Tina sighed
“You know what I really want is a few really boring days – weeks even “
“Too much excitement for you ?”
“Something like that “
“Did something happen at work ?”
“There is just a rumour – my boss is on holiday – just some stories that I was told. I am going to try and not think about it – I am on holiday “
“Want to share ?”
“When you feel better we’ll talk – what did Helena say about Alice ?”
“She took her out and got her drunk – she admitted that she doesn’t know if Tasha loves her “
“And that justifies her sleeping with that drippy looking woman ?”
“I agree with you – Alice is confused – no change there of course “
Bette lent closer to Tina and put an arm around her partner’s waist
“You soothe me the same way you do with Angie “
“Different in some ways “ Tina said smiling
“No – you are very loving “
“You are starting to talk nonsense “
“I don’t care “
Bette closed her eyes and Tina stroked her hair like she had with Angie while she had been comforting her. There was nowhere she would rather be than with her beautiful lover and fantastic daughter. She wished she hadn’t gone into work because the rumour she had heard had been a worrying one. Tina closed her eyes to enjoy the warmth and comfort that Bette represented.
The good news was that she had seen some of the finished scenes from Lez Girls and they looked really good. They were also close on securing a distribution deal and it looked like a release at the end of November – that was something that pleased Tina. She was thinking about how to get involved with promoting the movie – she was very proud of the movie – from dubious source material they had managed to produce a movie that was going to be iconic.

Interesting as always AllyE. Hope Bette and Angie are ok, just a little stomach virus, maybe. Good that Shane made up with Tina. Now what is going on at the studio that has upset Tina? Great post. Post when you can.
Can’t wait to see what’s going on with Tina at the studio. Also hope Bette doesn’t act like a big baby when she’s sick, if that’s what Shane was alluding to! PPS

Yeah, both Bette and Shane had limited childhoods which may have lead to their mutual tendency to schtupp for the USA at the Olympics, but I find the comparison to be of somewhat limited value. I mean both the Marquis de Sade and Clark Gable were noted celebrity lover boys of their respective days, but I think that’s about all those two shared. Bette’s youth, though harsh under Melvin’s parentage, was otherwise one of comfort and some privilege; Shane more or less grew up in the gutter. Shane needs to grow into a mature Shane, not the Shane Bette and/or Tina think she needs to be.
Poor Bette and Angie but Tina is there to take care of them and hope they will get better soon. Glad Tina and Shane talk and they are ok now. Please post more, thanks!
Hello AllyE, Thank you for another fine and fabulous addition to this fantastic fan fiction. Youn make the most mundane moments extraordinary. Bette and Tina dealing with a hot and bothered Angelica was so precious. This little girl is the light of both her mothers’ eyes. Tina, in full Nightingale mode, is pretty delicious. Great to see how she delas with her lover and child. Calmness reigns supreme as Tina just gets on with the day to day reality. Her concerns about works are teasing. I do hope things get sorted out sonner rather than later. I do get the sense that Bette might be the patient from hell as she tries to fend of infection and continue as before. I am sure Tina has the measure of her partner. Then Shane and Tina begin to rebuild their friendship. The sins of the past are discussed and the present is what they are working on. Shane knows that sher has acted foolishly and is able to admit it. Tina can deal with this and get them to move forward. Wonderful writing and classic storytelling. Brilliant as always. Thank you so much for entertaining me with all that you create. Your Loyal Fan.
