We are just days away from the season five premiere of Lost Girl and I am suffering from all kinds of feels.
One moment I’m excited to see the characters I’ve come to love so much over the last few years. Then I’m sad that this will be the last hurrah, though it will be split over two seasons. I’m hopeful that we will get Kenzi back and there will be a happy ending for all, even if it doesn’t work out the way I want. Amid the storm of emotions that this show sets off, I can proudly say that the overwhelming one is joy. Joy that this little show I came to love about a succubus and the search for her place in the world has turned out to be more than I ever expected.
So much more indeed! They blew the doors off of sexiness and stereotypes of all kinds. From the smallest character holding the most powerful of position, to their refusal to use labels, to way they placed women in powerful positions and used them as key pieces in the show. Not to mention the way the show and the cast has worked tirelessly to portray LBGT characters and relationships without the asterisk we’ve all become so accustomed to on television shows. In doing so, they created a huge, welcoming fandom, of which I proudly belong.
What am I watching for this season?
-Will we get Kenzi back? I’m feeling pretty good about it, but how long will it take? And what will be the cost?
-What will become of the triangle? It will probably stay intact which will anger many. We can argue over many things, but we all know that both Lauren and Dyson hold a special place in Bo’s heart and each offer her the strength she needs in different ways.
-What will Valhalla look like? From the teaser, it looks pretty damn cool to me. As long as it’s not on a train…
-Is Trick really the big bad? His blood has been the cause of most everything we’ve seen thus far.
-Will Evony get her Fae back? And how will that happen exactly if she does? “Dr. Lewis, I’m ready for my serum again..”
Evony’s not the only one!
Umm, where were we? Oh yes, in 16 episodes, we will know the answers to all of these and more.
Lost Girl’s final season begins airing in Canada on Sunday December 7 at PM on Showcase. Dates for the U.S. and U.K. have not been announced, but SyFy U.S. had originally been slated to air episodes in January 2015. But, if you’re like me and so many other fans around the world who cannot wait for every juicy tidbit, I will be glued to Twitter. @LostGirlLive is a good live tweet if you are interested.
And if you’re behind in your viewing, or have never seen it, you still have time for a Netflix binge watch before it airs.
Catch the full Season 5 promo from Showcase; It’s sexy (of course) with Bo in not only a maid costume, but also a ninja. And you won’t want to miss yet another side of Dr. Lauren Lewis that has spawned a twitter sensation. Add Ninja star throwing ace to her long list of talents. And with perfect form I might add. I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve watched it far more times than what may be considered normal, but I’ve never denied being a complete Faenatic!

I’ll be back in a few weeks after the season begins, but in the meantime, “Ptchuu!”
