**No Spoilers– If you haven’t seen the last eight episodes don’t worry, I’ve decided against posting spoilers here. There are still no air dates for the rest of the world, but if you just have to know, hit up twitter or afterellen.com for a play by play. **
On Sunday October 25, 2015 Lost Girl aired its final episode in Canada. For many like myself, it was the end of a five year journey of highs and lows, twists and turns, heartbreak and happiness for our favorite characters. We rooted for ships, cried over deaths and bemoaned some paths the show took, as any hardcore fan would, but in the end, we all still loved it. I watched the final forty-four minutes teary eyed and curious as to who Bo would end up with and how in the hell they would tie up all the loose ends in this amazing show in such a short time. Most of us would have preferred a two hour episode or better yet, more seasons, but alas, all things come to an end, no matter how revolutionary or life changing.
It’s been said many times before how ground breaking Lost Girl has been in their depiction of LGBT characters and relationships and even the equality amongst all characters regardless of size, shape or special ability. While some story lines still played upon social stigmas such as one group being “lesser than” another, they always demonstrated how wrong that way of thinking was. Everyone has something to offer. The mighty may not be so mighty. The one thought to be the weakest link may be the heart of it all. And the one deemed not worthy may just be what was needed after all is said and done.

I’ve loved many things about this show from the story lines and humor to the chemistry between Anna Silk and Zoie Palmer, lots of chemistry I might add, and the brave way the cast and crew so openly supported the causes that were depicted in the show. I’ve met some truly wonderful people thanks to Lost Girl as well. But the one thing that stood out for me as the final credits rolled was that Bo may have been the titled “Lost Girl,” but every character in the show was lost in some way. I whole heartedly believe that the writers did a wonderful job of making it all come full circle. Consequences were had and hard truths were found. Each person evolved throughout the seasons to find their true path and Bo’s journey had a fitting end.
Bravo to Michelle Louvretta for creating this amazing show that will surely not be topped anytime soon. Thank you to Jay Firestone, Vanessa Piazza, Michael Grassi, Emily Andras and the entire crew that labored to bring us five fantastic seasons. And finally, a standing ovation to the brilliant actors that have become Faemily to millions of us for the rest of our lives. Anna Silk, Zoie Palmer, Ksenia Solo, Rachel Skarsten, Emmanuell Vaugier, Kris Holden-Reid, Paul Amos, K.C. Collins and Rick Howland.
So while the rest of the world waits to say goodbye, here’s some snippets from DragonCon and Dallas Comic Con to hold you over.
I had a chance to attend both cons and the cast is just so wonderful. I have some one of a kind photos and great memories. The group of six pic will always be special as well as Doccubus. If you ever have a chance to meet anyone of them, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to Suzy Metaxes for the Dragon Con videos. She has all four panels posted on her channel. Check them out, there’s cast dancing, bloopers, Zoie singing, Anna talking about sex with strangers in bathrooms and find out why everyone’s talking about Anna’s muffins.
