For Canadians, it’s already been a long hiatus with no end in sight, but for American Lost Girl fans, there is bittersweet news. Sweet, because season five finally premiers Friday April 17 at 10 pm on SYFY. Bitter, because it’s the first eight episodes of the final season. The last eight in the U.S. will be sometime next year, as they are expected to air in Canada on Showcase later this year.
Even if you’ve already read all the spoilers there’s nothing better than seeing the show on screen and the first eight have already taken on some twists and turns. You won’t want to miss your favorite ladies and all the craziness of the Fae world as this one winds down.
If you haven’t caught up on the first four seasons, it would be a good time to binge watch Netflix or the dvd’s if you have them. If we’ve learned anything from the first four seasons, it’s that anything can happen and no one is safe.
In other news, Lost Girl fans around the world took to the polls to vote Anna Silk this year’s Canadian Screen Awards Fan Favorite. That marks back to back wins for Doccubus fans as they voted co-star Zoie Palmer the winner last year. Here’s a pic of them together from last year’s award show.
So what plans do the ladies of Lost Girl have now that the show is over?
The show’s lead, Anna Silk, says she’s been reading scripts, but is mostly content to take some time off just being a mom. Anna and her husband have a one year old baby boy named Sam.
Zoie Palmer has been busy shooting for the new SYFY space action series Dark Matter that’s slated to begin airing this Friday June 12 at 10pm. It’s produced by the same team and company that gave us Lost Girl and written by Joe Mallozzi. It’s based on his comic book series.
Zoie is playing an android and has been getting rave reviews from Joe on Twitter. The role was written for man, but Zoie did such an outstanding audition that they couldn’t say no. The show has been super secretive about Zoie’s new look as the android, choosing only to release bits and pieces until sometime this month.
Side note- the show will also feature Ruby Rose as a “dangerously beautiful android with a full range of pleasure features… Built for Fun.” Her character “charms everyone on board with the exception of the ship’s practical work model android” (Zoie Palmer). Can’t wait to see what that equates to on screen.
I, for one, am excited to check this one out. You can follow them on Twitter and Facebook. Also Joe Mallozzi features blogs and behind the scenes like this on his Twitter page: @BaronDestructo
Ksenia Solo has been quite busy filming for two popular shows: season two of AMC’s Turn and season three of the SYFY favorite Orphan Black. No one can say that she isn’t stretching her acting abilities with those roles. I love Ksenia and I’m excited to see more of her on screen. She’s also been hitting many comic con’s across the country so there’s a chance she may be coming your way soon.
Our favorite Valkyrie just had a role in Fifty Shades of Grey on the big screen and now, Rachel Skarsten has been cast as Queen Elizabeth on the CW show Reign. She has also been heavy on the con’s this year.
Finally, Emmanuelle Vaugier has been in many mini-series and tv movies has just started filming six episodes of the show Mistresses. You can catch her with on the con scene with the other ladies and several of our favorite Fae gentleman. Emmanuelle also has an animal charity where there are celebrity autographs and even some of her paintings offered up at any given time to raise funds for the cause. You can find out more here: http://www.thefluffball.com/
No news on the men yet other than Paul Amos has been working in theatre and they have all been hitting up the cons. If you want more con info for the cast you can check out Holly @conventionsEtc
Fans and cast alike were all shocked and saddened when they announced the shows end. Hopefully, fans can find comfort in one of these new shows and in knowing that we can see so many of our favorites on screen or in person at a con. So for the next year, enjoy the last sixteen episodes, root for their ships and hope everyone makes it out alive. One things for sure, it will be a wild ride.

This is the first time that I have truly been a fan of any show! I am so sorry that Lost Girl will no longer be filming.
I am grateful for all of the Doccubus fanfiction but, I feel like the show could have gone on a little longer!
I have never felt this way about any other show. I love the strong female leads. Mostly I love Doccubus! It kept me watching! Zoie Palmer & Anna Silk love them both. Peace xobc
