Chely Wright just recently got a lot of attention when she became the first country music star to come out as gay. She published a book where she revealed with a profound honesty the truth about her struggles and her decision to be true to herself. Later, a feature-length documentary “Wish Me Away” began showing at various festivals, telling Chely’s back story through interviews with her and her family, and finally chronicling the aftermath of Chely’s decision to come out as gay in the mostly conservative Nashville.

Last year Chely Wright married her girlfriend, Lauren Blitzer and the two couldn’t have been happier ever since. They actually married on the same day as Kim Kardashian, whose marriage seemed to be nothing but a publicity stunt since it ended just 72 days later.
