    The next morning, Tina is finalising her check out when she sees Bette approaching. She turns to her and smiles warmly.

    (Tina) Well hello, can I assume this means I have some company?

    (Bette smiles) Yes, I’ll tag along if the offer still stands

    (Tina smiles) Of course. Well you do what you need to here and I’ll bring the car around

    Bette checks out and makes her way to the entrance of the hotel where Tina is waiting by the car.

    (Bette) So, do you know now where we’re going?

    (Tina) I do, the hotel manager recommended a night in Valldemossa, and there are a couple of nearby towns we could choose from for the following night

    (Bette) And you booked somewhere?

    (Tina) Yes, I don’t think you’re quite ready to just turn up and try and find somewhere, so we’re booked into a place they recommended

    (Bette) Did you book for me as well?

    Tina smiles at her.

    (Bette) You were confident then that I was coming?

    (Tina smiles) I was

    They share a look as they load their luggage into the car.

     

    They settle in the car and take off, Tina again driving and Bette navigating.

    (Bette) You’ll let me drive at some point I assume? Now that we’re sort of travelling together?

    (Tina smiles) Yes, at some point

    (Bette) I looked at Valldemossa for a day trip, there’s a jazz bar there that looks good

    (Tina smiles) OK great, let’s have dinner somewhere tonight and head there for a drink. The manager at the hotel said that the beach is beautiful and nicely set up with a bar on the rocks

    (Bette smiles) Well that sounds good, shall we check in and then make our way there this afternoon?

    Tina smiles at her.

    (Bette) Is this too much planning for you?

    Tina laughs.

    (Tina) No, I am able to plan for the hours ahead

    (Bette smiles) Just checking

    They begin to approach their destination and Bette is studying the map.

    (Bette) Do you mind a diversion? There’s a lookout that I read about that’s not too far out of our way

    (Tina) No of course not, lead the way

    Bette directs them along some scenic coastal roads for a while and then points ahead.

      • In total agreement! I like the intrigue surrounding Tina’s family & previous “ship” that has her reticent.

        Like how Tina is tempering Bette’s proclivity to want to control the pace of everything. You know that I’m attracted to U so let’s hurry up & do this”. Foreplay??? What’s that???
