    Memories – (Chapter: Regret)

I will just keep at her until she realizes that I am in it for the long haul.

I called her mom to find out where she was having the meeting with Michael.  I am going to surprise her with a picnic on the beach.  It will be casual, private and we will finally have ‘the talk’.  I drive to the specified recording studio and meander in, not exactly sure how I should go about finding her without interrupting.  Wall signs point me to sound check, cast recording, voice over studios and bathrooms, but they don’t exactly say ‘Ashley, this way à’.  I walk down the halls completely lost, like it was my first day at King High.  Law of probability states that given enough wrong attempts there will eventually be a correct one.  I caught a glimpse of her, out of the corner of my eye through the 4×10 inch window on one of the doors and stopped in my tracks.  I couldn’t help but watch her.  She sat there with five other people and they were all laughing.  She was telling a story and exaggerating wildly with her hands.  She just happened to look up and saw me standing at the door.  Busted.  She signaled that she would be back in a minute and got up to walk to the door, slipping out and closing it behind her.

“Hey!  What are you doing here?”

“I have come to kidnap you!  How much longer are you going to be?”

“Well, I could actually wrap it up now if you want.”

“Did you really want me to pretend to think about that?”  She laughs.

“No, I guess not.  Give me five minutes.”  She reenters the room and I hear her giving final instructions for something.  They grumble at her orders and all get up at once, leaving the room single file.  She is the last to exit the room, flicking off the light behind her.  We began walking down the hallway shoulder to shoulder.  “So?”

“So, I was thinking about a picnic, just you and me; what do ya say?”

                “I think that sounds good.”

    1. oh you suck. You just had to stop there. You did that on purpose. I was all into and hoping for an answer to their problems. not a tbc. post more soon.

    2. love the dialogue. for a while there i thought you were going to still go for the neat unrealistic love conquers all thing but whew, glad you’re still letting Ashley put up a fight. Man i was so excited a few chapters ago when you had me thinking that Ashley had just given Spencer a taste of her own medicine. now had you went in that direction, that would have been awesome. maybe you can write a fan fic with an alternate ending? lol. anyways, in lieu of Ashley putting up a fight, what happened to the girl that she had “obviously been intimate with for awhile” when Spencer first saw her again. ok, i’m babbling but great job as always. =)

    3. I am so addicted to this story. I hope they can find a way to be together again, but Ashley has a reason to be so less than forgiving. You are a fantastic writer. Please post soon!
