Life changes unexpectedly – Chapter 25

    Chapter 25

The next day, Tina was at lunch break, sitting at a table with Josh and Callie, Sarah comes up to them and takes a seat.

“Hey guys. Tina, how’s the leg?” Sarah asks.

“It’s getting better. What about you?” Tina asks.

“My back is slowly getting there. I get treatment 4 times a week still. Hopefully I’ll recover fully within a couple of years, but… the doctors don’t know for sure. I’m taking one day at the time.” Sarah says.

“One day at a time, seems to be my motto also.” Tina says with a smile.

“So, Callie, any new ideas for the new project in film class?” Josh asks.

“I have a few, but not ready to share them yet, they’re just basic thoughts. You?” Callie asks.

“None, I don’t have a clue about how I want to do it.” Josh says and sighs.

“What about you Tina?” Callie asks.

“ One or two ideas but, nothing that’s speaking to me yet.” Tina replies with a chuckle. Just then her phone rings, she answers it, and lights up. She stays put.

“Hey babe, how was your meeting?” Tina asks.

“Boring, but I did get the artist, so I’m happy.” Bette replies.

“Oh that’s great, I knew you would get him.” Tina says and smiles. She blushes a little as she looks up, realizing that everyone what looking at her and smiling. The silence alert Bette in some way.

    “Sweetie, something wrong?” Bette asks.

“No, just the gang looking at me and making me blush.” Tina says.

“Ah, say hello from me.” Bette says with a chuckle.

“Bette says hello.” Tina says and smiles.

    “Hello Bette.” Everyone screams back.

    Everyone is now laughing.

“Sorry.” Tina tries to apologize a little.

“Don’t be. So, I checked my calendar.” Bette says.

“Yeah? When are you free?” Tina asks curiously.

“I can start my vacation on the 20th. And we can drive down there on the 21st. How does that sound?” Bette asks.

“Great. So when are you finished at work tonight, usual time?” Tina asks.

“I think so, I’ll call you when I leave. You don’t have work tonight?” Bette asks.

“No, I switched with Rhonda tonight, I’m working Monday night next week instead.” Tina says.
