Chapter 15
An hour later Peggy, Shane, John and Derek were walking through the doors of a briefing room at the FBI’s central quarters.
“Finally” Helena jumped out of her seat and rushed to give her mother a big and really tight hug.
As Tina and Alice saw this, their sole reaction was to imitate the brunette’s action for Peggy was not only a great boss or a loyal friend, she was like a second mother to both of them. Soon the four women were lost in a tight embrace giving time to Dana to do some hugging and warm greeting of her own.
“I have no words to thank you” Helena said as soon as she had finished greeting her mother, giving Shane another warm hug. The brunette was taken completely by surprise and had no other option but to take the demonstration of gratitude that was coming from the lawyer.
Neither Dana nor Shane were as cold as Bette was, but even them had to admit that this whole new concept of dealing with people for so many days on a road was at times a bit confusing. It hadn’t been in their nature to distance themselves whenever they had worked with victims in the past, but it had been a while since that had happened and even then they never had to deal with the same people for more than a day or two, so this whole situation was new to them and it was going to take some adjusting.
“You’re welcome” Shane softly whispered on Helena’s shoulder as she felt the brunette slightly sob in her arms. It was in times like this that was extremely hard for the agents not to get emotional.
Of course Tina immediately noticed Bette’s absence and couldn’t help but to both feel extremely disappointed and grateful at the same time. Disappointed because she wished nothing more than to have Bette in that room and see with her own eyes that the agent was indeed ok. And grateful since she had no idea how she would have reacted at the sight of that magnificent creature coming through the doors.
“Where the heck is Agent Porter?” Alice asked finally noticing the third element of their team of agents missing.

Great update. Hopefully now that Bette has re-entered the picture Tina is feeling much better and they get to go home together again. It is time one of them showed how much they care for the other. Can hardly wait to see who the mole is in the office. Thanks for posting.

Anne, wonderful update. I read that two-part episode of Castle was its highest rating. JB did great as Sophia Turner, too bad she was dirty. I am still waiting for an answer to my proposal…well?

At least Bette is ok, and Tina is more than happy about that factor. So now how will they react once they get to the new safe houses?
