A secret love
Over the next couple of weeks Tina and I took every opportunity to steal a kiss and loving looks at one another. Every time she smiled at me, my heart skipped a beat. I tried my best to not let her distract me from my work, but she occupied my every waking thought. We were so careful not to get caught, and we tried to cool it at work, but we couldn’t stop. I walked down the stairs and opened the door to the second floor; I got a page from the ICU nurse’s station.
“Did someone page me,” I asked Cheryl, the clerk.
“Nah Bette, notta page here.”
“Hmm, that’s strange, I wonder if it was a mistake,” I said looking up, finding Tina staring at me, she gestured me to follow her.
“Yeah, well, if I find out who did, I’ll call ya.”
“Thanks Cheryl,” I said and walked down the hall. I saw Tina walk into the storage room and I followed. As soon as the door closed, she pulled me into a passionate kiss. Our tongues battled for dominance, our breathing got heavy. Reluctantly I pulled away and rested my head against hers.
“You look beautiful today.”
“Bette! I’m at work, my hair’s flat, I’m in my scrubs and I look a mess,” she said and smiled.
“You’re a beautiful mess; your blue scrubs bring out your gorgeous eyes.”
“Bette,” she exclaimed slapping my arm.
“I have to get back upstairs,” I said kissing her once more, “very sly paging me.”
She grinned at me and went out of the door on the left and I went out on the right. No one saw us go in, so we very slyly got away with yet another secret kiss. I walked down the hallway and smiled to myself. I walked back into the P.T. gym and sat and opened my book. I was reading for a few minutes until I heard my phone vibrate, won’t be at lunch, new admin, ugh! Dinner tonight? I read. Of course. I reply, I’d rather have a quiet dinner with just the two of us, away from Alice’s gossipy eyes. I continue to read until I realize it is time for lunch. I walk to the cafeteria and I order my lunch. I seek out my friends and we all sit at our usual table.

Very interesting but sad chapter, it is hard to judge what is right and what is wrong, especially when we are not involved.
Thanks
