The whole night, Dana hadn’t left Alice’s side. She remained in her place, on the bed. Alice was allowed out of the hospital today, but if they were both honest, neither wanted to go, knowing about what Lara was planning. Aidan had warned them they couldn’t call the police as Lara had already planned for that, they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. Aidan and Shane had left in the middle of the night, after seeing Dana and Alice curled up on the bed.

It was 6.30, and Dana was beginning to stir. She was surprised they slept the night, as they were both feeling terrified. Dana looked down at Alice who was still sleeping, her head turned slightly to rest against Danas shoulder. She could feel the warm air as Alice breathed on her bare shoulder, due to the tank top she was wearing. As she was looking at Alice, she noticed her nose begin to twitch, and her face turned into a frown. It was cute, Dana thought. She watched Alice for a few more minutes, before getting up to use the toilet. While she was in there, she heard Alice calling for her. She quickly finished, washed her hands and horridly walked back into the room. She noticed Alice had a terrified look on her face, obviously needing comfort. Dana sat in the chair on the right side of Alice and took her hand.

Dana: What’s wrong, Al?

Alice: Nothing, I just… You weren’t here, and I thought…

Dana: You thought I left?

Alice simply nodded her head. She wasn’t looking at Dana, but she could see the tears running down Alice’s cheek. Dana reached over and wiped the tears away, leaving her hand on Alice’s cheek, cradling her face.

Dana: Al, I’m not going anywhere, I promise.

Alice: But what if you do? You can’t help your feelings.

Dana: Al, what are you talking about?

Alice: You thought you loved Lara, until you didn’t. What if the same happens with us? I couldn’t stand to lose you.

Dana: That won’t happen. I was never in love with Lara.

Alice: What about me?

Dana: Alice… I am in love with you. I always have been, I just never realised it.
