The Triangle of Love – Chapter 16

The next day, Dr. Edwards filled Alice and Dana in about the tests on Alice’s legs. He told them that she was regaining feeling, but she would still need the wheelchair for the next couple of weeks or so, if things kept going the way they were. Alice would be having the casts off within the week, but would still need the chair. Since Alice had practically moved in with Dana, they wanted to make sure Alice had plenty of clothes and other essentials ready for when they arrived home, as Alice was allowed out of the hospital the next day as long as she was careful. Once they knew all they needed, Dana said her goodbyes to Alice before leaving as Shane had arrived. Shane decided to stay outside and wait in the car as she knew she would be back to see Alice later. While she was waiting, she noticed someone in the bush across from her car. The figure was quite a way away, but it was obviously a human. As she eyed the bush, she never noticed Dana coming out of the hospital, until she opened the car door.

    Shane: Fuck, Dana!

    Dana: What?

    Shane: You scared me!

Dana: Why? You knew I was coming out here.

Shane: Yeah, but I thought you’d be in there a little longer.

Dana: Whatever, but that doesn’t explain how I scared you.

Shane: Well I was that bush over there.

Shane pointed to the bush as discreetly as she could, just in case the figure was watching. Dana looked over to the bush and saw exactly what Shane saw. Neither of them taking their eyes off the bush, Dana spoke first.

    Dana: What the fuck!

Shane: Yeah that’s what I thought. You see it too, right?

Dana: Yeah, the manly figure in the bush.

Shane: Is it just me, or does it look like he’s staring right at us?

Dana: You know what, let’s just go. The sooner we get there, the sooner we get back to Alice.

Shane started the car and drove out of the car park, before continuing their conversation.

    Shane: How is she?

Dana: She’s feeling better. The pain isn’t too bad this morning, although she’s still drugged up to her eyeballs.
