    More Fun #9

    Lynn “What do you mean?”

Sheila “Not only are you two working on a rescue mission, but it’s an ambitious one in a country not too fond of us flying our planes around.  The two of you are about to try a whole new level of stealth flight.

    Jill “Sounds exciting.”

Lynn and Jill are the Wing Team, no mission too crazy.

    Little Linda

It is time for dinner.  The adventuring will have to wait again until next time.  Seated at the table with her father, Silas, Linda eats her meal.

Silas “So…how did saving the world go today?”

Linda “I got to save Billy!  I was Robin!”

Silas “Is that why you left a yellow towel outside?  We’ll have to clean that, you know.”

Linda “I know, but Robin has a yellow cape, or so I’ve heard when they talk about her.”

Silas “Well, at least you’re playing with some friends now.”

    Linda “Daddy?”

    Silas “Yes?”

    Her expression is of innocence.

Linda “Do you think Wonder Woman would ever have dinner with us?”

Silas smiles and then chuckles to himself.  He can still remember the brief meeting he had with her before the super heroine had to depart.

Silas “I don’t know, little Linda.  Superheroes keep pretty busy.”

Linda “Yeah, but…I mean so do you.  You save the city by being the Mayor, but still have time to come home.”

Silas “Well…it’s a little different for me.  I tell you what though.  If ever I get a chance and run into her, I will certainly ask.”

    Linda “You promise?”

    Silas “I promise.”

Little Linda has a vivid imagination.  For a moment, she can picture Wonder Woman sitting across from her as a friend.

    Rose Spiritus

Her mind is racing.  She had been thought dead.  She had been hit in an ambush.  She somehow was able to experience it psychically before being told the news.  She was never in favor of her going over there.  She always understood, but she always had this feeling that there was an unpleasant fate awaiting her.

Samantha Wilson had once captured Rose’s attention.  They had become close.  Samantha wanted to serve her country and she did.  Rose knew not to beg her to go, but also stated her disagreement in the deployment.  Rose and Samantha were close once.  Their last conversation did not end well.  Samantha was going to live her life, regardless of what Rose thought.  It was a regret Rose lived with up until now.

Death was only the beginning.  Rose is driving along the highway, letting her psychic ability lead her where she needs to.  She is driving along, knowing that she will soon come face to face with something.  Perhaps a cruel joke.  Perhaps a realization.  Perhaps a new meaning of life in this ever changing, crazy world.

She is on her way to a discovery.
