    Nobis Pacem – Chapter 5

“If it happens tonight, I just want you to know I’m ready, Aerin,” she whispered.

I relaxed against her, clutching on the loving arms that encircled me, looking up at the ancient stars that favored their knowing glances down on us.

We swayed to a rhythm all our own.

“Loungewear from my last flight to Dubai,” she said, by way of explaining what she carried on her arm for me.   Her lips were kissing me between my shoulder blades, so her voice was slightly muffled.

“Thanks,” I answered, eyes still trained on the stars winking down at us.  “I hope they still smell like you.  I was thinking that this dress would be difficult to lie down in.  And the alternative would have been for me to strip to my bra and panties, so …”

She paused from her butterfly kisses.  “Hmm … I shouldn’t have brought these up for you to wear then.”

“Minx,” I growled, and spun slowly around in her light embrace to face her.

“I …” I said, and then stopped, throat dry all of a sudden.  “I … um … care for you a lot, Harley.”

Her lips curved into that Mona Lisa smile.

She brushed her lips on mine, and drew back to ask, “What do you care about in me, Aerin?”  I couldn’t tell if she was playing; it felt like she was because her eyes seemed mischievous.

I stepped back, and asked, “Oh … time for the list, huh?”

    She grinned.

“Well, if you help me out of this dress so that I can put those clothes on, maybe I could let you in on a few things in the list,” I said with a nervous chuckle.

An eyebrow raised slightly, but, after a beat, she reached around me, and started to pull the zipper down.

I cleared my throat, and started, “Well, let’s see, what are the qualities in a lover that turn me on … and that turn me on about you …”

The zipper had reached the mid-point of my back.

“Intellect … I just know I’ll never get bored when I’m with you … beauty, goes without saying … and elegance, of course, style, glamour, even, etc,” I started ticking things off my mental list.
