The Secret of Kew Garden Hills
They spent the rest of the day not quite arguing, but trying to come to some kind of agreement on when physical contact would be appropriate again. “Get the calendar out,” Ashley kept joking. They kissed a bit more, with Shea really trying to kiss the way Ashley wanted her to. If she can do that, Ashley thought, then she is definitely open to things and I should keep her around. Finally, as Sunday night approached, Shea left. “Text you tomorrow,” she said to Ashley, kissing her one last time. Ashley wondered if she would really ever see her again, even though they had just spent the whole day together and got through their first argument.
On Tuesday night, Ashley went to Shea’s house. The same scene started playing out. They were kissing on the couch, and moved to the bed. But before anything further happened, Shea stopped and looked at Ashley. “Are you going to tell me tomorrow that things moved too quickly again? Because I can’t take that again.”
Ashley looked at her longingly, responding, “I promise, I won’t.”
Even though Ashley saw Shea a few more times, Shea was finally the one that ended it. “I feel like you aren’t that into it, I don’t know, maybe there’s someone else,” Shea said on the phone. Ashley was relieved. “I hear ya. I wish you luck though. Goodbye,” Ashley concluded the conversation, not really feeling like she owed Shea any kind of explanation.
The first few weeks, Ashley and Rina met weekly. It eventually became more frequent, until they were seeing each other four times a week. This all led to tonight, when Rina told her husband she was going to a weekend religious retreat with her sister. He rejected, but Rina made sure she planned it during a time when he couldn’t touch her anyway, so that made things a bit more manageable. ”My parents will watch the kids, you will have a weekend to yourself,” Rina convinced him, praying that he would find a non Jewish girl himself and finally leave her alone. ”Fine,” he responded, ever the man of few words, of black and white conversations, where words would be spent like money—just enough so she wouldn’t complain.
Over their conversations, Rina had not told Ashley some not very nice things about her husband. He provided, that was about it. And expected what he wanted from Rina, when he wanted it.

Very sweet story. Now will Rina and Ashley become a couple? Or is this just a short term dallance? A married woman with two children in a religiously conservative family and community is going to be a hard environment to escape. Its a wonder she has computer access.
