The Sun and Stars
How did it turn so suddenly? In the kitchen I had told Claire she was an amazing person and not even five minuets later I was pulling in Vanessa to kiss the hell out of her. What kind of person does that make me? If I were honest I would say I loved Vanessa and it had never stopped and maybe I was a fool to even think it would just go away by the new intriguing Claire Daniels.
My train of thought went to Claire and I wondered was I just using her all along? Now that I thought of it, I should have never started anything until I was over Vanessa because it was unfair of me I knew.
I whiped my face and hopped off the couch. Dad looked up from the floor and a smile started to make its way to my face. He had patiently sat there in silence for me for over an hour and I didn’t know what I would do without him. ”Thank you.” I said and went to hug him. I knew what I needed to do first and that was to talk to Claire but I hoped she would even talk to me in the first place. ”Is it okay if I go out for a little while?” Dad nodded his head and told me to be careful while I laced my shoes and grabbed my phone.
Walking out the door, the nice breeze felt good against my face and the sun still had a good few hours left to shine. I headed to the bus stop so I could get to Claire’s house faster. What would I say to her? I had no plan or anything and I had arrived at the stop sign near her house before I had even thought of something, anything. The ride had went by so quick and my feet had stopped in front of the Daniels door before I could even blink.
Somehow I knocked on the door after taking a deep breath and while I knocked again I heard her voice yell ”hold on.” I half expected to face an angry mother to open the door before me but no, that tear streaked broken girl stood before me and I felt horrible. Before I could even open my mouth she beat me to the punch.
